Coastal Black Winery Short Film - 9 months of driftwood settings

This project was a real labor of love as it began last summer during the berry harvest. Wine pressing started in November. The winery received their own bottling machine in March 2012 - so I waited to film this part until it was all setup.

Shot on quality 'driftwood' settings. The wine tasting shots were with Sedna AQ1, and Orion v4b. The harvesting/pressing shots were reQuainted 176 GOP1 and Spanmybitchup GOP1. Lighting was from some Lowel prolites, shop lights and a little 'Walli' light I found here on personal-view which made for a great hair light. http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/1083/good-deals-2000lm-led-light

The music was written by me and recorded using Logic 9.

My MacBook Pro can not handle files recorded with the Sedna AQ1 patch

Maybe this problem has been discussed (and solved) before but I could not find more specific information. Using a San Disk 32 GB 95 MB/s SD card I have recorded footage with the Sedna AQ1 patch. It plays back in the GH2 without a problem but on my MacBook Pro (V10.6.8, 2.8GHz, 4GB Memory) the files only show up as white document icons and can neither be opened with QuickTime Player nor with Final Cut Pro 7 (which quits if I try to import the .MTS files). I do not have this problem with the Sedna CQ20 footage where I am using the same GH2, the same San Disk card and the same MacBook Pro. Is it because the built in SD card reader of my MacBook Pro can not handle the Sedna AQ1 footage? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Got Milk Ad Competition Entry Shot With Sedna AQ1

I helped produce this Got Milk for the competition linked above. I've been busy finishing up my Masters and didn't have time to actually help shoot, but I did do the color work in post. We used my GH2 with the AQ1 Sedna A or B hack, I can't remember now, and I had them record at 24L settings to extend the card life while shooting interviews in public with strangers. Most everything was shot using the 25mm Voigt and a 50mm 1.4 Nikkor. We used a Tascam Dr-40 paired with an Azden SMG2x shotgun mic for audio pickup.

Unfortunately we can't post the video anywhere else until the contest is done. We'd appreciate the votes, but I'm more interested in sharing work done on the GH2! I'll be sure to upload it to Vimeo as soon as we can.

abnormal bitrate with driftwood and other patches...

Hello all,

I tried to install Mysteron patch by Driftwood just awhile ago and shot a test the bit rate is claimed to be around 146mbs but mine is around 82mbs. I tested with Sedna and other patches and it's always around 40-60mbs some are 80mbs but never accurate as it's claimed to be ( most claimed to be around 100+mbs).

Is there a setting i should know about? I use 3.65d for mysteron and v1.1 for the hack. I have 64gb 95mbs card also. Please help me out and point me towards the light. I'm frustrated because of this. I'm starting to think it's either my card or my cam is a defect.

First Underwater deep SEDNA test

Hi all,

Saturday finally I got my Nauticam housing so I had the chance to bring with me underwater. Actually I had organized a deep dive with my friends already. So it wasn't the best circumstance to test a brand new equipment: too many things to pay attention to: gases, scooter, depth... but I did not resist bringing the new housing and lights with me. I had a lot problems trying to get the proper light orientation (2x L&M SOLA 2000). The lumix 8mm fisheye has a huge angle so the lights must be moved back to fill the scene. Anyway... just a test with sickening shots.

@driftwood SEDNA A settings, mostly ISO 500, Lumix 8mm wide open (it's quite soft at the borders). All the shots taken between 60 and 75meter (195 - 246 feet)

Alive - GH2 Driftwood Dark Matter V3 outdoors test

This is a short piece with two different color grades using the GH2 and the Driftwood Dark Matter Hack. Loving the detail and the gradability of the driftwood settings. Planning on shooting a short narrative in the same location.

THE LAST SHOT IS JUST A SHOT OF THE MOON with 300mm 2.8 and Tele extended. Detail is amazing... Lenses used:

Lumix/Leica 25mm 1.4 Tokina 11-16mm Canon 300mm L 2.8
