Smart Rendering GH4 4K on Windows?

Before I start archiving the best parts of my footage in MagicYUV lossless .avi format at a bitrate 18x bigger than the original, I am wondering if anyone has found a way to reliably smart render (no recompression) 4K UHD MP4 footage from the Panasonic GH4. My typical nature footage features a lot of unwanted head and tail. Really I just want to split the files on the PC, not in-camera. I don't care if it's forced to i-Frames or if the first and final GOPs don't render well.

The "main" NLEs won't do it. I tried TMPGEnc Smart Renderer and that didn't work. I expect it's beyond VideoReDo and Womble.

I have heard that Cyberlink PowerDirector tries it but there are glitches in the result from version 12 (reported at http://www.avsforum.com/forum/161-camcorders/1533217-cambridge-uk-4k.html ). Unfortunately the version 13 trial version doesn't support 4k so it would mean spending $80 on the program to test it.

I also notice that Corel VideoStudio Pro X7 features "4k smart rendering" and there is a fully-functional trial version but it's 800MB.

I've just got registered on this forum, after only reading (and learning!) for a while. Thanks for that! I've recently bought the Panasonic GH4 and now I'm about to finish my first videoproduction with it.

I've attached my project properties and render settings, but i'm wondering: what are the best render settings for the best image quality? And what are the best settings for Vimeo/YouTube purposes? In terms of bitrate, etc.

I will capture my footage @ 4K, but I will render it as a .mp4 full HD file.

Premiere Pro and DVD authoring question

I'm working on a project where roughly seven video HD streams (both 720pand 1020p) are going to be rendered down onto a DVD (720x480). Thing is, when I do test renders from Premiere Pro (CS5) to check the quality, it takes a phenomenally long time. For example, a four-minute excerpt takes about two to three hours. The final product is roughly 2 hours long, so I'm looking at a looong render time.

I'd like to know any strategies for shortening this process. Would it be best to simply import the sequence into Encore,. and let Encore handle the DVD rendering? Or, should I use Premier Pro to export the video to an MPEG-2 file, and important that as an Encore asset?

(Also, if anyone has an FAQ on how to adjust render quality in Encore, send me the link. I've never been able to figure out anything beyond the basic bitrate setting.)

Rendering full hi-def in PP CS5: need settings for fast render

I'm running into an odd problem with a project. I have several video streams that I shot using a Panasonic TM700: they're all ACHCD files, 1920 x 1080p. Since the subject was a three hour stage play, each video stream is comprised of four or five separate MTS files.

Now, for ease of editing on my slower computer, I rendered these streams into lower-res (1280 x 720) files, and I'll use these to do my first edit. Each of these took about six hours to render. (Each file is named for the date of the performance, i.e., Feb 1, Feb 2, Feb 5, etc.)

Thing is, eventually, after the actual edit is locked, I'll probably want to work with the full hi-def files. So I tried to render full hi-def versions of each performance. Thing is-- even though I'm using 1920x1080 29.97 files as a source, and the sequence has the same settings, each one of these will take about 10-11 hours to render. This seems strange to me, since there'd be almost no conversions, resamplings, recolorings, or anything else. (Also, the estimated final size of the file is twice as big as the combined original files.)

So. What sequence and export settings can I use for the greatest efficiency here?

When you have picures, that are out of vocus, also due to movewment, youcan render them int focus again - like in TV!

Pan shots without jerking

Hi, when I make a pan shot (in the new 25p), the image jerks like crazy.
I had before a Sony HDR-AX2000e that shoots in 50i and the jerk was not so accentuated.
When i render the video, if I choose WMV the jerk is attenuated, but if I choose the H.264 with the same settings the video jerks even more. (I use Premiere pro cs4).
I also try to shoot 25p with 25 shutter speed, but it´s not really better.
I look around many blogs, but no one is approaching thys problem of the digital movies.
Anyone has experience with this problem?
