I live in a remote area of Australia and this week I got asked to film some news footage for a statewide broadcaster. I asked them what the specs should be and they responded with: Film material in DV25 50i and deliver as MP4 H264. So the first stumbling block is that I shoot with a Panasonic Lumix GH4 which does not shoot interlaced only progressive footage so I just increased the fps from my usual 25p and shot the footage as a 50p MOV file. From what I've read you just drop the progressive MOV footage on to a sequence which has an interlaced preset and Premiere will fix that bit for you. That sounds too simplistic. I have gone through all the editing mode sequence settings and the only one I can find which might work is a Sony XDCAM HD422 1080i/p but when I google that I see another forum say that the only reason you would use that editing mode is if it was going to be played back on an XDCAM playdesk. Is someone able to decipher the specs of this broadcaster for me and tell me how to get my 50p MOV to them as an interlaced H264 MP4. I kind of feel like there's been chinese whispers between the tech team and news coordinator and the information I have received is not exactly right. Thanks The Big Mozzie

60p to 60i http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/14820/60p-to-60i Fri, 18 Mar 2016 09:18:19 +0000 fran 14820@/talks/discussions Hello, We are going to shoot a tv show for Japan, here in Spain. We got FS7 on NTSC 60i as they want it, but is imposible to shoot interlaced on A7sII. I' m wondering about to put the small A7S II on NTSC 60p and leting them interlace in post the footage. What do you think? Would be a total mess or will work for them? Thanks

GF1 patch suggestions for progressive 1080 http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/1106/gf1-patch-suggestions-for-progressive-1080 Wed, 05 Oct 2011 11:49:59 +0000 luckyluca 1106@/talks/discussions I owned the gf1 for a year and decided yesterday it was time to hack the firmware and get fullHD on it. I spent a lot of time looking through the patches available, tips, how to use the ptool and went through a hacked firmware update successfully.

Here is what I'm after:
I am a visual effects artist and wanted to shoot 1080 progressive 24 fps using the fantastic 20mm pancake lens and planning to do tracking and augment the shots with visual effects of some kind. I don't need fast action shooting and am aiming to keep things as progressive as possible at the highest res possible (I'll breakdown the footage into individual frames which I can run on houdini and maya later).

I'm not fully clear whether 1080p 24fps is indeed achievable on the gf1, any help and suggestion on this or potentially the next best option for progressive frames at the highest resolution would be much appreciated.

Also little help on how to enable fullHD and choice of format once the fimrware is installed would be appreciated too

Thanks!
Luca
