The Glitching as gone not sure if it was because of the Hack ? as it still had glitches when first applied was next day on trying that they went away, but I see banding in plain surfaces quite bad really I have not experienced this in any other camera.
I convert to ProRes HQ through FCP not sure if this is helping to cause this effect ?
Also I am not able to apply any more patches even to revert back to original it just says no media to play.
This is strange as I have applied many different patches in the past ?
Any insight or recommendations would be great.

Hacks and SD cards http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/7116/hacks-and-sd-cards Fri, 31 May 2013 08:51:28 +0000 oscarsGH2 7116@/talks/discussions Hi, I have been hacking my GH2's for a while now, trying different cards and hacks but it always comes up saying that the camera cannot record due to the limitations of the writing speed of the card!! I am now trying both the vanilla 44 hack and undefined 88 hacks with sandisc extreme cards but this same message always comes up and the camera wont record for more that 30s. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

Strange Flickering/Banding? Issue http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/5682/strange-flickeringbanding-issue Sun, 06 Jan 2013 22:59:18 +0000 bostonmike 5682@/talks/discussions I've heard of a banding issue with the GH2, but what is really is odd is that I've had this camera for over a year and used it in every lighting situation. I have never experienced this until last week. Sure I've had a little noise when there isn't proper light, but never anything like this.

You can see it really bad on the statue image, but you can also see it on the parking meter image if you look towards the center of the video...and this was lit well. The odd thing is I took a similar video of the statue, but zoomed out a little and no bad effect. I also took some shots the same night in similar conditions as the statue shot and they came out a little noisy, but no unsightly bands or flickering strips like this. These effects are happening with different lenses, so its not a lens issue.

The only two things I've been doing differently lately is using a B+W ND .6 filter (had it on during the parking meter video) and after all this time I just discovered the Tele EX button (which according to the manual does not degrade image quality). I can't image the ND .6 filter would push the camera to produce this banding, especially in broad daylight.

I have used the Terraquake hack since I bought this camera and its been so good that I haven't really had any need to change it. I never mess around with the ISO. I always light well enough to keep it down to 160, or switch to a faster lens when needed instead of raising ISO.

Oh well, going to head back to the same spot in a few days and take video without ND filter and with Tele EX off and see if this is causing the issue. Wasn't sure if anyone else was familiar with this.

HDD issues and repair topic http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/4506/hdd-issues-and-repair-topic Sat, 08 Sep 2012 06:14:29 +0000 inqb8tr 4506@/talks/discussions Yesterday I have copied footage from cards on a hard drive, and while watching clips, i noticed some kind of glitches and drops appearing. I realized that it happens only with footage copied to one particular hard drive - 1-2 months old 2TB seagate ST2000DM001. When I copied files from same cards onto another hdd everything was ok. When I copied files (with drops) from seagate to another drive, and played them from the healthy drive - footage was damaged, video glitches like half frame drop, something like that, in movist it is like bright green blocks, in other players and Premiere they are just transparent half frame drops, similar to damaged beta tape, if anyone remembers that. Some files don't have glitches but when I copy them on the same drive but to another folder, they get damaged. This happens with MTS files and also after transcoding to Prores422 HQ. Luckily I always backup new jobs immediately, but I have some other projects on that drive.

Is that hdd dying? I didn't know that dying hdd can damage video files internally.

I can't hack my 2nd GH2 http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2032/help-i-cant-hack-my-2nd-gh2 Mon, 16 Jan 2012 21:11:27 +0000 Aksel 2032@/talks/discussions I hacked my 1st GH2 few weeks ago; and we I decided to hack the 2nd it didn't work. I copied the GH2__V11.bin file into my SDcard, and when I turn on the camera and press the play button nothing happens besides the message the there are no files. did anyone had the same problem? and if YES how did you solve it? by the way the battery is genuine and fully charged.
