Hi everyone in my first topic from Spain. I'm just looking for the best patch to film skateboarding videos @ 60p o HBR (i film in both but edit in 29,98p so can use 59,96 for slow motion). I have been using for a long time spanmybitchup but sometimes fails dropping frames (sometimes even 3 or 4 frames) and from time to time when i use HBR a somethinglikeagreenband appears at the bottom of the picture.

Looking for very RELIABLE PATCH with INTENSE COLORS

Hey everyone,

I've been quite impressed by the great image detail the all-new 4:4:4 hacks produce, but I still have problems with their RELIABILITY, colors don't look that great for me and I also have to deal with HORIZONTAL WAVES that destroy the image. Unfortunately, I'm also quite new to hacking and don't really know which patch to choose.

Is there anyone who could recommend a patch with a bitrate around 40MBPS and INTENSE COLORS (e. g. similar to Canon 5D Mark III or GoPro Hero Silver Edition) and that could be used BOTH WITH a LUMIX G Vario 14-140MM and a SLR MAGIC HYPERPRIME 12MM?

Where to find the newest GH2 Patches?

I apologize I am a bit new to this, but I have been on personal-view for at least a few days, and I still cannot seem to find a topic for the newest patches, or a way to sort through and find them. Yes, I have seen stable patches, but all date before October 2012...are those the newest stable ones?

Is there another site or page dedicated to simply listing any and all patches in order from newest to oldest or something like that?

Is this the newest patch at the moment? Cluster v9 'DREWnet' 'Boom 4444 matrix.

Where is the 244mb/s patch I am seeing in youtube/vimeo videos? Unfortunately some users didn't post the name of the hack. I have heard of patches bringing it to 280/290 mb/s..not sure if this is true or not, but where would I find these.

I would like to test the highest bitrate patch, but i am having difficulty finding them. I am looking for the highest possible quality for some situations..even if it doesnt play back in camera..thats what my computer is here for (also, I started with film so this doesn't scare me as with film you can never play back what you recorded)

Im not very technical, i trust by my instincts and I am sometimes some confused by the amount of patches so my english isnt very good. But i like council for this.

In April or May I will codirecting and making of DP in a short i wrote with a friend. The story have some common elements with the novel 'The tunel' of Ernesto Sabato. Its a psychological drama, with elements of noir cinema, thriller, etc. its dark. My intentions aesthetic are closer to the tenebrism of the painter Caravaggio, films like The Godfather, Stay, Gattaca, etc. Palette with predominantly brown-ochre, black and some of red.

I have this gear in the Panix with TerraQuake: Two cards SanDisk Extreme 16 GB @ 30MB/S Class 10. Lenses FD: 50mm f1.8, 35mm f2, 28mm f2, 80-210 f3.8 & 135mm 2.8. M4/3 glases: Pancake 14mm f2.5 and kit 14-42. But i think need to acquire the pancake 20mm f1.7 have a soft look.

PS: I have the first and probably one GH2 in my country. Everyone told me acquired Canon, so I hope show what can this noble camera.

I had the opportunity to fly a DC9 simulator with my father (i'm sitting on the left, my father sitting on the right seat in the video). Planned on recording every second of this once-in-a-lifetime deal (that's why i'm wearing the GoPRO). And what did I forget to check? The memory capacity.. "V1"..[END]. THAT'S WHY you always make sure, you have large enough memory card in the camera! :D -- Card Full, 3 seconds before rotate... In a (soon to be extinct) DC9 simulator. Now that sucks. I am afraid I have been overwhelmed by the amount of different info on here. I really am just trying to find a collection of the best GH-1 hacks to download in the .bin format. I have been looking for hours but its hard it seems there are so many topics and its all a bit of a mess, which is normal for a forum.

I like the look of pappa arts settings or anything that will at least give me no rolling shutter in at least 720p, I have worked out its pretty much impossible to avoid in 1080p...

Any help would be much appreciated.

Custom picture profiles question

Just looking for information, from anyone who has been working on a hack to get at the picture profiles (smooth, cinema, etc.) to try and get something FLATTER like a technicolor cinestyle preset on canon, or even like the Cine-D setting on the AF100. I'd love to see a flat setting like that. Had a rough shoot this past weekend near sunset, just a lot of shadows mixed with a lot of highlights, and im sure a lot of others have had similar issues. I used to own an AF100 and the only two things I miss are the 1080p variable frame-rates and the flat cinema-D look.

If anyone has any new info on this feel free to comment. I'd love to see this get done as the next frontier of the hack. I just don't know if its possible or if anyone is even working on it...

interesting thing for us/settings GH2, for example SDHC667 (667x) but minimum 16MB/s so min. 16x8=128Mbit/s !!! for now already on the market and selling on xstra.eu see link below: "Pretec 16GB SDHC Card 567x Class 16" for €45,55 and there is 32GB version of this SDHC. The minimum thing of Class16 means minimal trasfer speed of 128Mbit/s maybe this can help us the minimum limit (on the lower side) is 128Mbit/s AND up to it's higher limits (specifiation of Pretec).

Now we can do guaranteed minimum of 128Mbit/s ??!! Sounds good, BUT the also the "64GB SDXC 567x" and the upcoming "16GB SDHC667 667x". Maybe helpfull for "GH2-settings" and data is not lost when power is down!!!

Im about to buy the Panasonic GH2. The hack info that I've found so far astounds me, especially the high bitrates, the 4K, and the 4x3 aspect because I shoot with anamorphic lenses and the 16x9 aspect is too squashed. Anyway, I'm trying to do all this for the first time, and coming from a Canon Magic Lantern background, I'm really keen to try. Anyone got some helpful tips and advice out there? Sorry for the huge NUBE sticker on my forehead! Thanks in advance everyone!

cannot load any GH2 patches from new Sandisk 64GB/95mb/s

I have the popular Sandisk Extreme HD 32GB 30mb/s which allows me to load any GH2 patch just fine. However, when I tried the same with my brand new fast Sandisk 64GB card (after formatting it in my GH2), no patch is recognized from that card when I hit the green button and try to load it. Has anyone else had the same problem?

I noticed the 64GB card shows up as "Untitled" on my Mac (after formatting it in my camera), while the 32GB one is called "NO NAME". When I change "Untitled) to NO NAME on my compter, it still doesn't work. (I am running the latest version of Lion). The card (64GB) does however work fine recording with any patch and I do have the other one for laoding patches.

But I still want to find out what the problem could be. Thanks in advance for any hint.

Am I the only one seeing png images where zip file downloads should be? Trying to download patches since yesterday on PC and Mac and I can't seem to get to the files.

Any hint would be appreciated and then it's probably time to shut this thread down.

This was shot handheld with GH1 hacked with Lpowells 75Mb Peak reliable Settings. 720p 50fps, shutter 1/50, Panasonic 14 -140mm with ND8. The color and clarity blew me away, the broadcaster doing the "live to air show" could not believe the quality from this little camera.

I will soon work as a cameraman in a documentary film shot mostly with a Canon XF100 Pal in 50i mode. My role will be a B camera, with a GH2 I'm going to buy in Japan. My question is, what is the best patch to turn landscape plans in 50i that can be fitted well with the Canon XF100?

Seriously, shooting static torture charts doesn't cut it, nor does it bring any useful information on how a patch is doing except for Full Intra. We need something that is pure (uncompressed), has texture, has rich tones, has complex non linear motion (like fire or water), that is repeatable and easily accessible to everyone to play on a Full HD screen.

I've been searching the Web for flash animations to no avail. Does anyone have an idea or can come up with something that fits this bill?

An OpenCL/GL or DirectX demo perhaps?

Settings Vault Summary chart beta

Hey guys, per discussions that were going on in the GH2 Hack thread on DVX here's a very rough draft of the chart I was talking about to help keep all the info organized. When developers are ready to release a new or beta patch they can download the latest version of the "Patch Vault Summary" excel file, populate the applicable cells, then send to the person who'll update the master (apply the developers changes), then upload the new version to the thread superseding the previous version. The new patch can be uploaded after the summary has been updated, or before.

As stated this is a very rough draft and I'm expecting revisions will be needed in the columns regarding nomenclature, additional pertinent info, etc. I encourage the developers and of course Vitaliy to chime in and request for any additional columns/rows as they see fit or even reformatting for viewer legibility.

Once the final version has been approved by Vitaliy and developers, the thread containing the excel summary should be locked from public comments. If changes are needed, inquiries can be sent to the moderator of the thread.

I think that it will be useful because there are so many patches and sometimes I do not know what patch I have loaded in my GH2 body, I can only gest by seeing the remaining minutes on 32Gb card, maybe it's only me to have this problem, well I am quite unorganized,....

Patch vault is a good idea but I see that some of them are described in a different way. So is a PITA searching for the originating message where the patch is fully discussed.

Starting form there, When you post a new patch, why you do not describe each patch in a standard simple template with all main feature?

Hacked GH1 and Final Cut Pro

I am starting this thread because I have done a lot of research on the GH1 hack but I cannot find any information on what should be a common real-world problem with the hack. Here is the problem and all relevant information:

1. I have hacked my previously unhackable GH17 with all of the popular patches and a couple of my own modified patches using ptool 362.

2. Of all patches I have tried, lpowell's max latitude 100mbps patch seems to have the highest average bit rate according to Media Info.

3. Media Info says the max latitude patch has a max overall bit rate of 108 Mbps and averages 20.8 Mbps

4. Media Info says that footage from my unhacked GH17 has a max overall bit rate of 18 Mbps and averages 11.8 Mbps

5. Once my footage is transferred into Final Cut Pro 7 using Pro Res 422, the data rate in FCP7 of my unhacked footage averages 17 MBps while the data rate of my hacked footage averages about 13.5 MBps.

6. This discrepancy makes no sense to me. And moreover it would seem that if you edit in FCP7 that you are better off not hacking the GH1. Is this assumption correct? Can someone share more information on this issue?

GH1 Stable 24p Setting

I have been using several 1080 24p patch for over a year and finally found one that is stable in all conditions. This is a 12 gop, 220 Mbps patch that averages about 36 Mbps on very high detail scenes with no crashes in motion or locked off framing. I have only tested the 24p mode and no other settings as I have no need for any other format.

Video Plays Fine on Camera but Constant Blips on Computer

Hey everyone,

I just installed the hack the other day and everything I have shot so far has been fine with the exception of the first couple of seconds of every video having the "blip," but today it figures when I go to shoot something important the video looks fine on the camera but when I do a log and transfer in FCP7, the video has constant choppiness and "blips" all over the place. It is now completely unusable. I thought that the problem might be log and transfer but then I tried to convert it with Toast Titanium and had even stranger results. The .mts file is almost 600mb but when I drag it into Toast, it says it's 2mb and when I export it, it just exports a 1 second clip of just solid green...?? What the heck!? There must be some way to save my video! I mean if it looks good on the camera playback then the file must not be the problem right? Someone PLEASE help me out here!! I was using recommended settings of 42000000 in 24H mode if that helps...

Remember that you need to check Version Increment patch(as you use older firmware) and use proper value for this patch (10 will do fine).
It is also good idea to check Prevent Version Compare :-)
