SLR Magic expands the micro four thirds lens lineup with the new SLR Magic HyperPrime CINE 10mm T2.1 wide angle lens. With this latest addition, the portfolio of lenses for the micro four thirds system is now comprised of thirteen focal lengths. The product will be officially introduced during upcoming Photokina 2014 fair in Cologne.

The field of view of this new HyperPrime Lens corresponds to a 20mm lens in 35mm format and this fast wide angle of view opens up many new creative composition opportunities, particularly in the fields of interior, architectural and landscape cinematography and photography. Additionally, a fast max aperture of T2.1 makes the SLR Magic HyperPrime CINE 10mm T2.1 ideal for available-light photography.

We place our highest priority in the development on our lenses to fulfill the demands of professional cinematographers and photographers. The design and build of the SLR Magic HyperPrime CINE 10mm T2.1 is solid and reliable.

The SLR Magic HyperPrime CINE 10mm T2.1 (MSRP: $799 US) will be available from authorized SLR Magic dealers starting end of October 2014.

The SLR Magic HyperPrime CINE 10mm T2.1 will be first presented at Photokina 2014 fair. The SLR Magic stand would be in (No. L-011, Hall 5.1) during the fairs which are to be held in Cologne from 16th to 21st of September 2014. For all those who want to visit Photokina 2014 fairs.

This will be the first professional PEN with weather-sealing and professional body. New sensor design and revolutionary viewfinder are rumored as well. I hope it is a good rival for the Fuji, as I want to stay in the MFT system.

Mitakon Speedmaster 25mm f/0.95 vs SLR Magic 25mm T0.95 Hyperprime Cine III for micro four thirds? http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/18284/mitakon-speedmaster-25mm-f0.95-vs-slr-magic-25mm-t0.95-hyperprime-cine-iii-for-micro-four-thirds Mon, 20 Nov 2017 21:36:34 +0000 videoallstars 18284@/talks/discussions I film bands in poorly lit bars, clubs and festivals and would like a 50mm equivalent. Which one should I get? What's the difference between the two lenses besides weight? How do they match up performance-wise? How accurate are those F and T values? I have a GH2. I can't afford the Voigtlander

FS: JVC GY-LS300 4K Super 35mm Cinema Camera - $1500.00 http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/17402/fs-jvc-gy-ls300-4k-super-35mm-cinema-camera-1500.00 Mon, 24 Jul 2017 12:22:46 +0000 saltherring 17402@/talks/discussions I'm selling my JVC GY-LS300 camera which I've owned for the past year-and-a-half. It's a 4K/Super 35mm camera that produces wonderful images. For the price, the feature set that you get with this camera is unrivaled. I'm asking $1500.00 for it and am throwing in an extra battery and charger.

Here's some other specs:

  • Updated to the latest firmware which shoots 4K 4:2:2 internally at 150Mbps (many other bit rates + resolutions too)

  • MFT lens mount with Super 35mm sensor

  • Variable Scan Mapping technology supports many other lens mounts without any quality loss (with adapters): PL, EF, etc.

  • 120fps HD recording for smooth slow motion

  • Records to SDXC memory cards (dual slots)

  • Built in ND filters

  • Two XLR inputs

  • Can livestream 1080p video via Wifi or 4G LTE

I own a set of MFT lenses that I have used with this camera but have also used Canon EF mount lenses with a Metabones Speedbooster adapter. It works really well and the lens/adapter communicates with the camera automatically - no fussing or menu changing needed.

I should note that this camera works perfectly and has no physical blemishes. I recently decided to purchase a Panasonic GH5 and that's the only reason I'm getting rid of this. The work I'm doing, I need a smaller footprint so am going back to DSLR shooting for the moment.

For what it's worth, I'm in the Bay Area of California but willing to ship this anywhere in North America.

MFT Cinema Zoom Lens; SLR Magic, Veydra, please take notice http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/16903/mft-cinema-zoom-lens-slr-magic-veydra-please-take-notice Wed, 10 May 2017 17:36:38 +0000 fosterchen 16903@/talks/discussions Just wanted to see the interest in a fast MFT manual cinema zoom lens.
Probably not worth the R&D to make it, but there really isn't a cinema zoom lens out there that's specifically made for M43.

Tokina has a cinema line of zooms that come in MFT, but they are made for S35mm sensors. And JVC's LS300 can do their digital zoom in, but you need that specific camera. Panasonic's FZ2500 now has useable zoom motion w/ great range, but the lens is not constant aperture, nor is it fast enough, plus it's a 1 inch sensor. And yes there are plenty of broadcast zoom lenses, as well as C-mount zooms that can work with the right adapter & extender.

Something in the lines of 10-100mm, or 12-120mm with at least T2.1, has to be parfocal, but macro optional.
Kind of like the vintage 16mm zooms from Angenieux / Zeiss / Cooke.

I've been using the Olympus 12-40mm with gears for both zoom and focus, but it's not quite parfocal; was even dreaming of a full Duclos mod like their 11-16mm!

FS: JVC GY-LS300 4K/Super 35mm Camera + Voigtlander 17.5mm/25mm/42.5mm + Rokinon 85mm (all MFT) http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/16583/fs-jvc-gy-ls300-4ksuper-35mm-camera-voigtlander-17.5mm25mm42.5mm-rokinon-85mm-all-mft Sun, 12 Mar 2017 12:25:24 +0000 saltherring 16583@/talks/discussions Hey All,

I'm selling a very gently used GY-LS300 with a full set of MFT lenses. Everything is in excellent to like new condition. Here's a list of what is included:

  • JVC GY-LS300 4K/Super 35mm camera
  • Two batteries w/ two chargers
  • Voigtlander 17.5mm/f0.95 lens
  • Voigtlander 25mm/f0.95 lens (not de-clicked)
  • Voigtlander 42.5mm/f0.95 lens
  • Rokinon 85mm/t1.5 lens

I've been the sole owner of all of this equipment and have taken very good care of it. If interested, I'm happy to share more pictures to show what quality things are in and happy to elaborate on any questions folks might have. All the equipment is in perfect working condition and I have used it very recently. I'm asking $3750.00 for everything and not interested in negotiating, it's priced to sell!

Cheers,

Joel

Unfortunately when I looked at some sample video it looked pretty bad. Is it possible a firmware update or a hack like the one on the gh2 could improve the quality of this otherwise great camera?

GH2 - Wise choise for the future? Speedbooster and Canon EF lenses http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/14845/gh2-wise-choise-for-the-future-speedbooster-and-canon-ef-lenses Mon, 21 Mar 2016 11:01:50 +0000 testering 14845@/talks/discussions Hi, I hope I got the correct category for this thread. A friend and I share a GH2 with a lot of equipment like crane, tripod, follow focus, shoulder rig, slider etc. We need an advice for lenses we also could use in the future on a newer camera. GH2 is getting old, has to much noise, is not weather resistent and so on.

GH4, a Canon or a Blackmagic camera could be the choice in the future. As far as I figured out if we choose the path with Canon EF lenses we can use them on MFT cameras with Metabones Speedbooster EF to MFT Ultra 0.71x.

  1. Would you advise to use Canon EF mount lenses with Speedbooster instead of native MFT mount lenses? Brands like Rokinon offer mounts in different variations so my plan would be to buy Rokinon lenses as EF mounts and put them on the Speedbooster on MFT devices.
  2. What about powering the speedbooster? Do I need external power source on GH2 if I want to use electronic lenses?
  3. Could you also recommend some wide angle lenses for our GH2?
  4. What do we shoot? Nothing special just basic stuff like nature, streets, indoor, ...

Thanks in advance

Mitakon VS JR Speed Boosters http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/13677/mitakon-vs-jr-speed-boosters Tue, 08 Sep 2015 08:45:12 +0000 mat27k 13677@/talks/discussions Hi guys, i'm a GH4 owner. I read both threads about Mitakon and RJ speed booster but i still can't decide which one is better.

It seems both suffer of blue dot. It seems Mitakon is sharper in the center and blurrer in the corners but RJ is less sharper than Mita in the center but it is more sharp in the overall. I read Mitakon has some color issues Mitakon is a bit more expensive than JR and built quality seems to be better than JR. I'm also worried because Mitakon has another Speed booster in the second version of the product and EF-MFT speedbooster is just in the first version. Should I wait? How much better is the second version compared with the first one?

I'm quite confused about this two Speed Boosters. I'm going to use it mainly with a Kiron Kino Precision 28mm f2 and a Helios 44-2 58mm f2

Please, could you give me your impressions and final thoughts about this two lenses?

Thanks in advance

Samyang 10mm F2.8 EF Mount+ Speedbooster or SLR MAGIC 12mm T1.6mm mft http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/12981/samyang-10mm-f2.8-ef-mount-speedbooster-or-slr-magic-12mm-t1.6mm-mft Wed, 13 May 2015 02:27:32 +0000 club_irate 12981@/talks/discussions I have a GH2 and will be getting a GH4 soon. I have the SLR Magic 12mm lens with me which is a 24mm equiv on the GH2 and will be 28mm on the GH4 in 4K mode. The samyang with the SB will be wider (14mm on the GH2 with SB & 16mm on the GH4 in 4K mode and will be a F2).

Which out of the 2 is the better lens? I have the option of selling the SLR Magic to a film maker i know and the Samyang costs roundabout the same as what i am selling the 12mm for.

Kindly advice.

P.S- I have been recommended to go for the Samyang compared to a Tokina 11-16mm (EF) as they said It's sharper and has better CA control. Views on this.

All three episodes are on the Kickstarter page. If you like what you see and want to see a forth episode, back his Kickstarter, you can donate as little as $1 if you want. Thanks.
