I asked him to shine the lens through with a flashlight and it has this dust inside the lens which you can see in the pic. Can anyone here who has a good understanding of this check it out and suggest if the level of dust seen in the pic is fine for me to go ahead and wont hamper the image quality.

Samyang 10mm F2.8 EF Mount+ Speedbooster or SLR MAGIC 12mm T1.6mm mft http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/12981/samyang-10mm-f2.8-ef-mount-speedbooster-or-slr-magic-12mm-t1.6mm-mft Wed, 13 May 2015 02:27:32 +0000 club_irate 12981@/talks/discussions I have a GH2 and will be getting a GH4 soon. I have the SLR Magic 12mm lens with me which is a 24mm equiv on the GH2 and will be 28mm on the GH4 in 4K mode. The samyang with the SB will be wider (14mm on the GH2 with SB & 16mm on the GH4 in 4K mode and will be a F2).

Which out of the 2 is the better lens? I have the option of selling the SLR Magic to a film maker i know and the Samyang costs roundabout the same as what i am selling the 12mm for.

Kindly advice.

P.S- I have been recommended to go for the Samyang compared to a Tokina 11-16mm (EF) as they said It's sharper and has better CA control. Views on this.

I have a set of Arri Zeiss lenses, in standard mount with PL adapters. The set is 24/32/50/85 all lenses have arri pitch gears installed, and 80mm fronts. The 50/85 are clickless, but the 24/32 have not been de-clicked. Glass is very nice, though the 24 has some cleaning marks on the front. These lenses range from the late 60's to early 70's and are the pre T* coating. I'll also throw in a set of Tiffen diopters +1, +2, +4.

You can view photos of the set here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/1d97lhvt6...YCmieGkwa?dl=0 Also, you can view a promo spot shot with these lenses here: http://www.savagehenryfilms.com/port...cs-7-layer-set (sorry for the excessive flares, but the client gets what they asked for!)

Looking for $7500 for the set.

So I have a Fujinon E6X14AM f/1.6 14-84mm TV Zoom lens that's C mount. What I'm trying to understand is what sensor sizes this lens will be compatible with for conversion. Can anyone help me out?

Also, I wanted to know if someone could link me to a site/document that explains which dimensions on the rear mount of a lens determine which sensor sizes it will cover.

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

14-35 f2 Olympus on GH2 - what a glass.. but! http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/1821/14-35-f2-olympus-on-gh2-what-a-glass..-but Fri, 23 Dec 2011 08:06:17 +0000 Meierhans 1821@/talks/discussions
Now comes the BUT:
As you can see on the picture this thing is huuge. And heavy. I bought the original Olympus adapter, but still the lense has about 4 mm play at the front. (XY.. not Z ;)

As soon as you touch follow focus things become shaky. I already phoned Oly if there was some kind of clamp to fix it to the rig... but nothing. The cam is mounted in cage, but this lense is simply so long and heave that its to much for the mount i guess.

Any ideas who makes such clamp for a specific diameter? I don´t want to do DIY on this, it should match as bought.

PS:
If you think this would suit better into an existing topic let me know.

I need some help understanding the Speedbooster for M43 http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/12168/i-need-some-help-understanding-the-speedbooster-for-m43 Tue, 13 Jan 2015 17:44:59 +0000 magellan14 12168@/talks/discussions I have a Panasonic GH3 and am considering the Mitakon Lens Turbo for M43 to Canon EOS EF. I understand this adapter gives an extra stop of light and allows me to use 35mm glass. My question is, how do I determine what the f-stop will be and focal length of a full frame lens once equipped with the lens turbo? For example, if I attach a Canon 50mm f1.4, would the focal length still be 50mm and the f-stop still 1.4 - or would it be less?

I appreciate your help,

Olympus' tactic of playing down the optical performance of this lens need not be necessary. Even though this lens only costs £90 and is little more than a body cap with some glass in it, it is still capable of delivering decent quality images. Those who fancy experimenting with the fisheye look but don't relish the thought of forking out proper fisheye money, this lens is ideal.

image

Overall, this lens is fun to use, thanks to its compact size and fuss-free operation.

17mm SLR Magic topic http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/7738/17mm-slr-magic-topic Sat, 10 Aug 2013 06:54:43 +0000 Renovatio 7738@/talks/discussions http://www.43rumors.com/new-fast-slrmagic-17mm-lens-coming-soon-and-new-35mm-f0-95-version-too/

Finally comes the first alternative to voigtlander 17.5mm! And to think that the 17mm could also be better in terms of focal length: in fact the crop in 16:9 mode should be a bit more of 2x, is not it? So to get even closer to the equivalent 35mm, it's better than 17.5 (just to make a speech of fanaticism, but there is!) So: what expectations we can feed? The build quality does not come close to voigtlander perhaps, but in terms of image quality, now we should be very close, is not it? Also the price will certainly be lower, you know if you can buy from a third party and take advantage of a street price lower? Let's keep up to date

m43 to MD lens adapter problems? http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/11832/m43-to-md-lens-adapter-problems Sun, 23 Nov 2014 16:01:10 +0000 einstein7 11832@/talks/discussions Just wondering if anyone can give some insight as to why a Minolta md lens adapted to the RJ speedbooster for the bmpcc with a dumb adaptor ring doesn't work? The flange distance is correct because i have a md-m43 dumb adaptor and the total flange distance is the same. My md lenses work fine so after getting the RJ speedbooster .71x I then got a dumb md-eos adapter ring thinking it would work fine and nada.. lens is focusing past the sensor? They make a md-eos adaptor with glass but not sure why that would be necessary when md's work fine on m43 with no glass and no focal reducer.

Took me forever to edit wading through hundreds of clips! Second time I have used Magic Bullet Looks and first time using Warp Stabilizer in Premiere Pro CS6, lots of the footage was shaky because it was mostly filmed on a moving train (and my camera movement was pretty terrible at times but this was definitely a run/sprint and gun scenario).

Pretty happy with the outcome altho the laptop I coloured the film on is quite yellow it seems. Still not using a hack...

Hardware search: rotating step ring for mattebox use with rotating lens fronts http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/7673/hardware-search-rotating-step-ring-for-mattebox-use-with-rotating-lens-fronts Sat, 03 Aug 2013 11:30:19 +0000 QuickHitRecord 7673@/talks/discussions My mattebox is mounted to a rod system with a sliding base from LockCircle, so lenses that extend when focusing or zooming are not a problem (the mattebox slides on the rods). But lenses with rotating fronts still pose a problem and I'm trying to find a some kind of anti-friction or bearing-based intermediary ring to put between the matte box and the lens's filter thread.

Before anyone suggests it, I know that I could remove the glass from a circular polarizer and use that, but I don't think that it would be smooth enough. I'd like to see if there is anything that is specifically designed for this.

It was a very cold day and so quite hard to keep everything smooth. I was using a super cheap £30 tripod a Velbon C-400 which comes with a PH-24B fluid head. I also experimented with a technique where you slowly tip the tripod towards an object/subject whilst tipping the tripod head up to keep it level. It gives the impression that you are using a slider track.

Although I have worked with still photography and video operating I haven't had much experience with this more artistic film work so I would love some feedback. Most of the shots I was on a very wide aperture, around 0.95-1.4 and kept my ISO very low. I haven't really done any colour correction and I am not entirely happy with the edit. I did it more as a test and rushed the edit a little whilst at a friends house (so I couldn't concentrate 100%). One thing I have noticed is that there is a "judder" effect going on constantly throughout, like it is missing some frames. Not sure if this is because I am using a cracked version of premiere or its the way I exported it.

Anyway here it is (its kind of depressing).
