GH2 froze during long recording. Not sure for how long it remained frozen since the camera was fixed on tripod and I have been messing with sound recorder, all the time checking the red record circle on display, which was frozen, that i haven't figured out immediately. I continued filming after reinserting the battery.

Tomorrow morning, on the card I have 00-03.mts spanned files that are not recognised in Premiere as spans, but all work, and 04 is the beginning of new spanned sequence. I am missing 10 or more minutes of the show (EDIT: between that 03 and 04, to make it clearer).

Does this mean that it crashed on spanning point and that it is pointless to try with recovery software or something..

Crashed Panasonic GH3 and 8mm fisheye... sold for repairing elements? http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/8137/crashed-panasonic-gh3-and-8mm-fisheye...-sold-for-repairing-elements Tue, 17 Sep 2013 03:29:10 +0000 kaikerr 8137@/talks/discussions Well, it's hard to write this, but I bought a GH3 three months ago and last weekend as I was filming some landscape timelapse in Valle del Jerte (so beautiful) the camera drop from a second floor as I was approaching to stop the timelapse after 12 minutes filming with no problem (damn wind, 2000 € flying!!!) and smashed against a rock. As it's seen in the photo the camera it's not very damaged as I could expect (it was al in one piece) but obviously it doesn't turn on and I don't know what to do with it: - send it to Panasonic? don't know how much money could be and never heard about an experience like this, how long could they take to repair it or whether it is worth... - or maybe sell it as a repairing elements kit for other cameras...

And now I need a new camera as my job depends on it, but a lot of doubts come to me: - buy another GH3 as there's nothing still on hacking it? - a hacked GH2 as I wait for the new upcoming GH5? Have someone any truthful news on thew GH5 or a soon hack for the GH3?

Computer crash/SO on exporting 3 minute clip with Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/8045/computer-crashso-on-exporting-3-minute-clip-with-adobe-premiere-pro-cs6 Sun, 08 Sep 2013 13:15:34 +0000 akazodd42 8045@/talks/discussions Okay guys, heres the deal. Running Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 on Windows 7 64bit platform. I cut, edit and save my three minute project. Export settings for Vimeo 1080P. Halfway through the export computer shuts down. OFF. I ran the task manager and watched it go. CPU usage peeks at 100%, RAM sitting at 2.something.

Under the hood:

  • AMD Phenom II X4 840 @ 3200 Mhz,
  • ATI Radeon Sapphire 5870,
  • 8GB of Ram,
  • 16GB virtual RAM,
  • 8GB for page file

This computer was built for me buy the company I work for. I was told "Dude, this computer will handle anything you throw at it. There's no reason for Premiere to crash it." So now I'm being accused of messing with the hardware or some such thing.

Please help me figure this out. Like seriously. Need help bad. I've poured over system requirements and can't understand why this is happening. I'm getting no support from my company IT.

So I turn to you guys.

Applications Using the GH2' s Quality-for-Size-and-Cost Ratio http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3541/applications-using-the-gh2-s-quality-for-size-and-cost-ratio- Mon, 11 Jun 2012 04:57:57 +0000 Roberto 3541@/talks/discussions Known for its image quality, the GH2's real edge can be its quality-for-size-and cost:

  • During news coverage of Australia's 2009 bushfires, ENG crews needed small CMOS cameras they could pack away, run with, and if necessary lose to the flames;
  • Journalists to trouble-spots choose easily-concealed cameras which until now have been either too expensive or which sacrifice image quality to conceal-ability;
  • We have already seen how the GH2 is an affordable, high-quality choice for hexacopters. Not only is the GH2 light enough and the image good enough, but in case of an accident the camera can be crashed and damaged, but, like the copter itself, the footage can be valuable enough to make the calculated risk worthwhile.
  • A feature film shot on RED or Alexa might need footage from a crash-camera which still cuts-in with the HD footage

DSLR in a Crash Cam Box Made out of a Pelican 1300 Case

For most of us, our GH2 is a precious, one-off acquisition. But, if a camera has to be crashed, it's best to protect it. One rental company http://revolutioncinemarentals.com/pelican-1300-crash-cam-case/ has a DSLR crash-cam case easy enough to build from a Pelican case, some rods and T-receivers:
