Peculiar and organic bokeh

I recently saw this movie, well, before we talk about what interests me, I will tell you that the movie is not sold as a cross by David Lynch Juno or Donnie Darko light version, ends up being a teen movie without depth on the issues concerned, but well done and it shows the intention, but no more. Anyway if you have time can see it. The movie is 'Daydream Nation'

Well, my curiosity comes with the following, the photo has a very delicate and accomplished, at times presents a bokeh that at least do not remember seeing, looks like it has a texture full of holes, in old optics is somewhat distantly by stings like lens, but here seems very natural. The camera used was a CineAlta with Cooke S4 lenses worth a fortune. Remember something similar or some bokeh lens that achieves that?

Does anyone know how to select only the bokeh part of a shot?

Helloo, Does anyone know how to select only the blured part of an image??, as there is focus peaking (even though i don´t know if there is a desktop software that can do this), i´m guessing there should be a way to select only the bokeh of an image instead of what is in focus???

can anyone think on a software, or a method, to achieve this??

Additional Aperture for Better Bokeh?

I found this item on Ebay.

It should give a really nice circular bokeh with the number of aperture blades on it. Might be a great cinematic upgrade for lenses with less than desired bokeh. Has 58mm thread, with a max aperture diameter of 37mm. Clickless lever for smooth change.

Question is, would it work if screwed into the front of your lens and how well? Has anybody tried something like this?

Lenses with "triangular" bokeh in Taxi Driver

I've been watching the "Taxi Driver" again and noticed that in the night scenes the background lights that appear in bokeh are of a semi-elliptical and semi-triangular pattern. I've never seen any lens produce such a weird "semi-triangular" bokeh. I've seen "Round" bokeh (Canon, Minolta etc), Hexagonal (Nikon), but not this weirdly appealing triangular pattern. Does anybody know which lenses Scorsese used for Taxi Driver?

I know the the "classic" helios and recently I fell in love with a cheap old Olympus Zuiko 50mm 1.8 do you guys have any recommendations for lens with great bokeh and flare?

I use FD 50/1.4 and Ai-s 50/1.4 mainly for bokeh at max aperture. 7, 8, 9 or whatever blades don't matter at max aperture.

1.4 seems the fastest that shows circular bokeh. What's your favorite 1.4 lens for bokeh?
