Adapting very old sigma canon lens to Sony a6500?

I recently snatched the Sigma High Speed Wide ASPHERICAL 28mm 1.8 for a very good price. It is made for old canon cameras from the analog age. Tried adapting it to my a6500 with the viltrox adapter. No electronic connection. Will now try a non-focal-reducing adapter by commlite. Are there any other speedbooster options out there except for metabones? maybe one with a built in aperture?

Experiments in Super Wide Anamorphic, ungraded footage, camera NEX 5N. (-3,1,-3) Including some tighter shots for comparison. Hyperfocal distance is tiny at these focal lengths. Cylindrical distortion is normal at these focal lengths. Ultra Wide Anamorphic will come later on Canon 5D

As sad as it is to say, I'm selling my lovely Tamron SP 17mm f3.5 lens.

It's an adaptall 2 lens so fits any camera you would care to think about and Tamron made an adaptor for but I'm selling it with and Olympus OM mount.

It's a brilliant ultrawide angle lens that is a solid chunk of metal. Tack sharp and difficult to get hold of these days. No hood but comes with caps all for £180.

In excellent condition with no scratches or fungus.

Importantly with for the GH2 it has quite remarkably low distortion for being 17mm so it works as a really nice 35mm lens.

Is it possible to increase dynamic range to 4:2:2 10bit or greater?

I've heard, that GH3 can record in 4K 20 frames per second and memory card capable to store 95 Mb/s. Therefore if we narrow size to 16mm (10.6mm x 6mm) is it possible to record RAW video?

In video mode replace exposure numbers with rotary disc shutter angle: 1/32 = 270° (?) | 1/48 = 180° (add) | 1/50 = 172.8° | 1/60 = 144°; | 1/96 = 90° (add) | 1/120 = 72° (add)

Add Frame Line - The aspect ratio frame 1.85:1 (35mm theatrical), 2.35:1 (Cinemascope)

Lumix 14mm + Wide Converter vs. Tokina 11-16mm Comparison

I got the Tokina 11-16mm (Mark I) because I wanted a wide lens I could use on both the GH3 and BMCC (if it ever comes out). I just sold the 14mm with converter on Craigslist and I thought I should do a quick test before the dude comes and picks it up. The converter is the official Panasonic DMW-GWC1 designed for the 14mm pancake.

I did three comparisons each with the lenses at f/2.8 and f/5.6. The uncropped shots are resized, but I only wanted to demonstrate the barrel distortion and vignetting with those. There are also 100% crops of each. All shots were done with the wide converter on the 14mm (sorry, forgot label it properly), and with the Tokina at it's widest setting. I used RAW on the GH2 for all shots.

As expected, the Panny combo had worse vignetting and barrel distortion than the Tokina. The GH2 corrects the distortion for the 14mm, but it can't do anything about the wide converter. At F/2.8, the Panny combo was clearly sharper than the Tokina which had some noticeable coma. At F/5.6, the sharpness is about even in the center, but the Tokina slightly beats out the Panny combo at the edges. You can also notice the purple fringing is pretty bad on the Tokina at the edge of that white book.

An extremely clean wide angle lens in great condition. I purchased this last Fall and have used it with my GH2. Its a very good, affordable way to shoot at this focal length. The focus ring moves very smoothly and fluidly. This is a unique lens in that it has three built-in filters: Y2 (yellow), R60 (red) and 81B (warm). Of course, shooting with the lens on normal is an option too. The adapter fits solidly on the GH2 and had no wiggle room or "play" like other Fotodiox adapters I've used.

Desperately seeking advice for a hood option for this lens. Searches yield no results, other than I need a 58-77mm step up ring to do this without vignetting. I can't be alone in this issue! I am constantly battling flares and lighting artifacts whenever the sun hits it. This is my glidecam lens and its becoming very problematic to shoot with. For instance, my T2i glidecam setup had a 17-50mm and has zero issues with flares. Is this more than a hood issue, could it be a lens coating issue?

I have 14mm 2.5, 20mm 1.7, and Ai-s 50mm 1.4. Definitely not interested in Sigma 30mm 2.8.

I'm looking for 0.6x converter to turn Ai-s 50mm 1.4 into 30mm 1.7 if one third stop light loss.

My budget for lenses isn't much more than $1200... I love the look of the Nokton along with the fact that it'll fare well in low light, but I want to get a decently fast wide lens as well. Is there any reason why I couldn't just plop a .45x adapter on the end of this lens and have myself a 50mm and 22.5mm equivalent in one lens...
