Sony A7s alternatives for low light? http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/13425/sony-a7s-alternatives-for-low-light Mon, 20 Jul 2015 18:44:57 +0000 Ittaidv 13425@/talks/discussions We run a little production company and are looking to buy some new camera gear. We currently shoot a lot in nightclubs and difficult light situations. We use our camera's in a multi camera enviroment: using the hdmi out, convert it to hd-sdi and run them to a video mixer.

We planned to buy 4 x A7s, with lenses and accecoires this summer, but ran a little out of money. 12 - 14 K is a little unrealistic to spend right now. Still we really need some camera's that will do extremely well in low light. Something we can crank up high in ISO and still will look clean.

The A7s is absolutely the best in low light, but maybeye we might settle for a little less low light and spend a lot less money.

That's why I'm now looking for an alternative: a camera that is lots cheaper then A7s, has a wide angle lens or can fit one, is able to run on AC power for a long time (10-12 hours) and has a clean and very high ISO. Something that will allow us to make shots in a very dark club, that are still clear and sharp and noise free.

I already saw a lot of cheaper cams that have high ISO available, but there's so many new models coming out nowadays, that it's a little difficult to get a clear overview and compare them all.

Anyone who knows a decent compact, at a decent price for me?

Cheap SD-Card Shootout (vs SanDisk Extreme 45MB/s for GH2; GH1; GF1) http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/12183/cheap-sd-card-shootout-vs-sandisk-extreme-45mbs-for-gh2-gh1-gf1 Thu, 15 Jan 2015 17:08:12 +0000 MrZz 12183@/talks/discussions Hey @all! I was searching for a cheap alternative to the SanDisk 45MB/s Extreme Cards for use with Flowmotion v.2.02 on my GH2. I made a list which I will update now and then. I mostly also check for performance using the Fast-action 3GOP on GF1 and the Reliable In-Camera-Playback patch for the GH1. I used the "Death Screens" and also checked for spanning on those cards.

Hope this helps, Cheers

Second body to compliment GH2 - Eos M or else http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/8262/second-body-to-compliment-gh2-eos-m-or-else Fri, 27 Sep 2013 21:41:24 +0000 cmountman 8262@/talks/discussions Hello

I have a GH2 with the following lenses:

Sigma 30mm F1.4 Sigma 18-50 F2.8 Panasonic 14mm and 20mm

I also have a Shneider 18-90 F2 lens which I am having made into a Four Thirds lens

I am looking for a cheap second body that will give me footage that will compliment the hacked GH2

I am unsure of which Panasonic Body with hack will best compliment the GH2

Also is the new G5 and G6 planned for hacks? If so they would be perfect choices?

I am also considering the Eos M with its f2 lens although I am concerned that the h.264 format is being replaced next year and if this will make this camera obsolete or if they will offer the new improved codec/format a firmware upgrade?

If anybody has any thoughts on this I would be grateful to know your opinions

GH3 is still too expensive

Thanks
