Lens Mount Identification http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2377/lens-mount-identification Thu, 23 Feb 2012 11:30:55 +0000 bostonmike 2377@/talks/discussions I'm reaching a dead end trying to figure out what kind of lens mount this is. The lens is a Sigma 24mm f2.8 manual focus that I picked up on Amazon. The seller is unsure what mount it is and I've researched a ton of websites to no avail. I know a few mounts that it isn't because I own adapters for Minolta MD, Canon FD and Konica AR and none of them fit. Hoping someone might recognize it. Trying to buy an appropriate adapter to fit my gh2, thanks a lot!

How do you adjust your c-mount lenses to have proper focus to infinity? I thought I just have to buy a precisely machined adapter and all those lenses will fit just how they should. Now I own about 5 different c-mount adapters (latest is the METABONES adapter) and non of them seam to match the required flange back. Do you have to loosen all those tiny screws on the lens and adjust it to your camera/adapter??

good info I googled:

Inside if found an Helios 44M 58/2 the lens seems to be in perfect condition apart from the aperture blades do not seem to make a perfect circle. Glass is perfect condition, It also came with a couple of interesting filters a Hoya center spot clear filter an a softener B! Wonder what these will look like in video mode. Has anyone ever used these? Anyways i'm looking to get an adapter so i can test it out. Suggestions please? Just another thing whilst browsing for that lens it seems like most of them go to aperture f16 mine is f22 is that something special or rare? SLR Magic 2x ANAMORPHIC lens http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/4466/slr-magic-2x-anamorphic-lens Tue, 04 Sep 2012 15:35:25 +0000 slrmagic 4466@/talks/discussions Dear All,

We have received 4 email requests from members of this forum on the possibility of designing an Anamorphic lens. We had this thought for the past year and did a lot of research. There is one common request which is to have horizontal flares. The others requests did not have any common grounds. We came up with an idea for a 25mm f/3.2 1.35x or 35mm f/3.2 1.35x Anamorphic lens for micro four thirds. Shooting at 16:9 would give a 2.40:1 anamorphic output. Just before we decided to go ahead with the project we had a second thought. 2 Years ago we asked openly on dpreview.com forum for what photographers wanted and the general consensus was our SLR Magic HyperPrime 12mm T1.6 lens.

http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1041&message=36104678

It did not fulfill the needs and wants of everyone but we made what most people agreed on by means of a discussion. It ended up being a popular lens that we still are having problems meeting demand and we think it had a big part to do with asking photographers. If we did not ask around we probably made a 12mm f/2.8 lens. As it turned out quite well last time we want to make our next lens an open discussion again.

Here are some of the possible options we received and please feel free to throw in extra ideas. I hope people experienced with shooting in Anamorphic can also throw in ideas.

Anamorphic Adapter (1.33x, 1.5x, 1.75x, 2x) Dedicated mFT Anamorphic adapter for reasonable size Anamorphic adapter compatible with FF lenses 50mm f/2.8 Anamorphic lens (FF, APS-C, or mFT) Expected MSRP (Sad fact but it as direct correlation to IQ)

Kind rgds., SLR Magic Team

P.S. We will be at Photokina 2012 and would like to welcome any cinematographers with Anamorphic lens ideas to drop by our booth for idea exchange! We will be in Hall 3.1 B059

Looking how to adapt some older lenses to the GH4 http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/16892/looking-how-to-adapt-some-older-lenses-to-the-gh4- Tue, 09 May 2017 22:08:29 +0000 ForrestGray 16892@/talks/discussions Hello!

I recently purchased a Helios 44-2 58mm lens as well as a Jupiter 12 35mm lens. I did a little research and purchased I believed to be the correct adapters to use the lenses on my Panasonic Lumix GH4. Sadly, I've grabbed a 'Keycay L39 to M4/3' and a Fotasy L39 to M4/3 neither which allowed me to focus the lens once secured to the camera.

Im also wondering what kind of adapter would allow me to use the Jupiter lens, as well.

Any input is appreciated!

Need: Damaged Speedboster EF-MFT with electronics http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/16603/need-damaged-speedboster-ef-mft-with-electronics Fri, 17 Mar 2017 13:30:46 +0000 Psyco 16603@/talks/discussions I'm looking for a Metabones EF-MFT Speedbooster with lens control/electronics ( http://www.metabones.com/products/details/mb_spef-m43-bm1 or http://www.metabones.com/products/details/MB_SPEF-m43-BM2 or http://www.metabones.com/products/details/MB_SPEF-M43-BT4 ).

I want to built a 4/3 to m4/3 speedbooster, to use my 4/3-lenses on my BMPCC and reduce the crop factor. The Metabones is the only one with electronic contacts, on all other adapters the glas element is to large to fit the contacts besides it.

BUT, as I don't know if that really works and I don't want to spend $600+ for an uncertain experiment (the adapter gets heavily modified/milled), I'm looking for a damaged adapter costing not much more than shipping.

Best m4/3 adapters for parfocal operations http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/15224/best-m43-adapters-for-parfocal-operations Thu, 16 Jun 2016 04:22:58 +0000 monks19 15224@/talks/discussions Hi, I was wondering which lens adapters offered the best (or close to) parfocal adjustments for zoom lenses ? Parfocal zoom lenses are really hard to come by, but I know that some special adapters offers adjustments from the back focus/flange in order to get a very close parfocal use from the lens.

So, which one correspond to this ? I have a RJ Nikon to mf3 adapter (an old version). But what else is out there and are they worthwhile ? What other change the RJ adapters offers now and is it worth the change ?

Thanks to answer

It pretty much works as expected (terrible AF performance, functional aperture control, havent tested stabilization yet) with one caveat. It seems that the depth dimension of the adapter is too small because Ive lost alot of close focus ability with the lens and it focuses way past infinity. The focus scale is all messed up, pointing to poor design of the thickness of the adapter. At the 2 foot mark its already focusing at infinity. Ive had this issue with pretty much every other (dumb) adapter Ive used, so Im not very surprised. Still sucks, though.

This is with my Tokina 11-20, by the way.

Mitakon VS JR Speed Boosters http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/13677/mitakon-vs-jr-speed-boosters Tue, 08 Sep 2015 08:45:12 +0000 mat27k 13677@/talks/discussions Hi guys, i'm a GH4 owner. I read both threads about Mitakon and RJ speed booster but i still can't decide which one is better.

It seems both suffer of blue dot. It seems Mitakon is sharper in the center and blurrer in the corners but RJ is less sharper than Mita in the center but it is more sharp in the overall. I read Mitakon has some color issues Mitakon is a bit more expensive than JR and built quality seems to be better than JR. I'm also worried because Mitakon has another Speed booster in the second version of the product and EF-MFT speedbooster is just in the first version. Should I wait? How much better is the second version compared with the first one?

I'm quite confused about this two Speed Boosters. I'm going to use it mainly with a Kiron Kino Precision 28mm f2 and a Helios 44-2 58mm f2

Please, could you give me your impressions and final thoughts about this two lenses?

Thanks in advance
