Olympus 75mm vs Olympus $99 40-150 http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/22285/olympus-75mm-vs-olympus-99-40-150 Mon, 15 Jul 2019 22:07:57 +0000 DrDave 22285@/talks/discussions OK, so you want that tack sharp goodness at 75mm. And the Olympus 75mm does indeed provide it. But can you get that same sharpness in the centre for cheap? Why, yes you can, Just bolt on the super plasticky and very lightweight Olympus M.Zuiko DIGITAL ED 40-150mm 4-5.6 R MSC. Which one do you prefer, A or B?

New SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH DSLR Full-frame Lenses for Film-makers and cinematoghraphers

KREUZNACH, 02 April 2013 Schneider-Kreuznach has launched a completely new series of full-frame lenses, the “Xenon full-frame primes” . They have been especially developed for DSLR cameras with full-frame sensors for video shooting and can also be used with professional cine cameras. The new lenses will be available from the second half of 2013.

The series initially comprises three fixed focal lengths: T2.1/35mm, T2.1/50mm and T2.1/75mm. All lenses are suitable not only for Nikon and Canon DSLR full-format cameras with corresponding F or EOS bayonet mounts, but also professional film cameras with a PL mount. The product series will soon be expanded with wide angle and telephoto focal lengths.

“This series of prime lenses has been especially designed for full-frame sensors and meets users’ exceptionally high demands in terms of optical performance and ease of use,” says Daniela Kesselem, product manager at Schneider-Kreuznach. The lenses are color matched. Whether for commercials feature films, Xenon full-frame prime lenses provide film makers with optimum performance and reliability in all situations.

The full-frame lenses are designed for 4K resolution (4096 × 2304 pixels). They can be used with standard professional cine accessories like rigs, follow focus or matte boxes. Special features required for filming such as minimized breathing, a harmonious bokeh or reduced stray light have been optimized in the Xenon full-frame prime lenses.

Further product features of all Xenon full-frame prime lenses include:

  • A maximum aperture of T2.1 as well as identical external dimensions and positioning of the controls in all models
  • A circular aperture with 14 blades to ensure a harmonious bokeh
  • Robust cine-style lens mechanics
  • Manual, precise and reproducible focus settings with a 300° angle of rotation
  • Larger focus and distance scales for easier focusing even with greater distances, readable on both sides
  • M95 filter thread
  • Exchangeable bayonet interface

Olympus 75mm 1.8 manual focus grinding sound on GH3 http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/6366/olympus-75mm-1.8-manual-focus-grinding-sound-on-gh3 Sat, 09 Mar 2013 19:25:16 +0000 cinevoyeur 6366@/talks/discussions I just got this lens the other day and noticed that it makes a vey quiet, yet noticeable grinding sound when focusing manually. Is that normal? It also makes a noise when focusing automatically. I have the panasonic shotgun mic attached to the GH3 for audio recording and it definitely picks up the sound. Is my lens defective or is this normal for this lens? I don't notice it on my 17mm or 45mm, but haven't tested.

Would love some direction on this. You can hear it in this video at around the three second mark - small clicking sounds.
