A mutual passion for photography and the art of image capture between two companies’ owner has led two special firms, Shanghai Transvision and German IB/E Optics, to collaborate on an industry-shaking new innovation. By merging Geman high-quality engineering standards with Chinese cost-effective production infrastructure, the new camera lens brand Handevision (“Han” means China in Mandarin and “De” is the word for Germany).

35mm f1.4 & 40mm f1.4 Voigtländer (Classic) http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/6595/35mm-f1.4-40mm-f1.4-voigtlaender-classic Thu, 04 Apr 2013 00:51:12 +0000 Manu4Vendetta 6595@/talks/discussions As every Nokton lens have great quality, both have a pancake design, silky bokeh and arent expensive as others Nokton; the prices range of these lenses between U$550-650. I think may be a great option for GH's and NEX, but I dont understand why arent more widespread.

I miss something?

Why I Love Davinci Resolve http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/7613/why-i-love-davinci-resolve Fri, 26 Jul 2013 22:51:13 +0000 B3Guy 7613@/talks/discussions Hi, All!

Just thought I'd share some color grading that I've been fiddling with. I shot a bunch of footage at the local carnival a month back, and now I'm working on grading it for one of my personal music video projects.

I've used my own take on a bleach bypass process that simultaneously adds the teeniest touch of blue to the lows, then with a couple more nodes, I've tweaked exposure and of course that nasty red/orange/yellow/green zone of color (that seems to always make or break skintones) has had some subtle adjustments.

Lemme know what you think!

The First of Two Films in my 'Hometown' Series http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/7024/the-first-of-two-films-in-my-hometown-series Tue, 21 May 2013 02:52:10 +0000 B3Guy 7024@/talks/discussions Hi, All! I had posted a week or so back about some art gallery bound films of mine that I was projecting this past weekend. Here is the first of two films in the series. This one is maybe a month old, and was in a show then at Bethel University in their Johnson Gallery. I displayed it on my Dell U3011 which I built into the wall just for the show along with a laptop for playback. It is not really made with web viewing in mind, it supposed to be viewed in an art gallery, but some folks here on the forum expressed interest in seeing my work, so I uploaded it to share with the community.

I shot it all on GH2 with @Driftwood Moon Trial 5. I used a Kowa 16-H with Redstan clamps and a Lightcraft Workshop Fader ND Mark II, mounted on a Konica Hexanon 40mm f1.8, usually stopped down to f2.8 or even f4.

This is the first, and has certain things that make it very successful in terms of capturing my concept for the project. But technically, I think I prefer the second film even though it is simpler in some ways.

I hope you enjoy it, and I hope it is of some use. Feedback and questions are of course welcome! (Note: I'm going to go ahead and post this, but Vimeo might initially be still in the process of converting the clip.)

Minnesota Snow in Anamorphic http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/5623/minnesota-snow-in-anamorphic Sun, 30 Dec 2012 16:40:15 +0000 B3Guy 5623@/talks/discussions It is winter in Minnesota, and that means snow. There is nothing quite like the experience of a walk in the snow clad Minnesota forests. The soft snow and sharp cold winter air create a new extreme of quiet that can only really be experienced first-hand. The accompanying music can only hope to capture some of the mood. Shut out the hustle and bustle this holiday season for a relaxing 11 minute walk by the frozen Sunrise River behind my home.

Tall Painting Making of Video http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3406/tall-painting-making-of-video Tue, 29 May 2012 16:32:02 +0000 B3Guy 3406@/talks/discussions Here is a short video I just finished up. My sister did this for the final project in her college painting course.

I think my GH2 is still on Sedna AQ1. I used a Konica Hexanon 40mm f1.8 stopped to f2-ish (riding between clicks). Hopefully I captured the unbridled awesomeness of repeatedly pouring paint over a tall form. Enjoy.
