This new ZEISS® Distagon T* FE 35mm F1.4 ZA full-frame wide angle prime showcases legendary ZEISS® optical performance in a compact design.
With a minimum focusing distance of approximately 12 inches, the ZEISS® Distagon T* FE 35mm F1.4 is the first E-mount lens to feature an exceptionally fast aperture of F1.4. The lens has a 9-bladed circular aperture, which makes it a superior choice for creating smooth bokeh (defocus) during portrait shooting. It also performs extremely well in low-light shooting scenarios or for simple everyday photographs.

The new 35mm prime lens produces stunning corner-to-corner sharpness – even at maximum aperture – thanks to its advanced optical design with 3 aspherical elements including one Sony advanced aspherical element and a 9-bladed circular aperture. It also features ZEISS® T* coating that suppresses flare and ghosting for natural color reproduction and excellent contrast.

Additionally, the lens has a Direct Drive SSM (DDSSM) system that enables whisper-quiet precision focusing, even at the shallowest depth of field. A dedicated aperture ring can be set for smooth, continuous operation – ideal for movie-makers – or with click-stops to provide tactile feedback when shooting still images. The ZEISS® Distagon T* FE 35mm F1.4 is also dust and moisture resistant design for reliable operation when shooting outdoors.

New SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH DSLR Full-frame Lenses for Film-makers and cinematoghraphers

KREUZNACH, 02 April 2013 Schneider-Kreuznach has launched a completely new series of full-frame lenses, the “Xenon full-frame primes” . They have been especially developed for DSLR cameras with full-frame sensors for video shooting and can also be used with professional cine cameras. The new lenses will be available from the second half of 2013.

The series initially comprises three fixed focal lengths: T2.1/35mm, T2.1/50mm and T2.1/75mm. All lenses are suitable not only for Nikon and Canon DSLR full-format cameras with corresponding F or EOS bayonet mounts, but also professional film cameras with a PL mount. The product series will soon be expanded with wide angle and telephoto focal lengths.

“This series of prime lenses has been especially designed for full-frame sensors and meets users’ exceptionally high demands in terms of optical performance and ease of use,” says Daniela Kesselem, product manager at Schneider-Kreuznach. The lenses are color matched. Whether for commercials feature films, Xenon full-frame prime lenses provide film makers with optimum performance and reliability in all situations.

The full-frame lenses are designed for 4K resolution (4096 × 2304 pixels). They can be used with standard professional cine accessories like rigs, follow focus or matte boxes. Special features required for filming such as minimized breathing, a harmonious bokeh or reduced stray light have been optimized in the Xenon full-frame prime lenses.

Further product features of all Xenon full-frame prime lenses include:

  • A maximum aperture of T2.1 as well as identical external dimensions and positioning of the controls in all models
  • A circular aperture with 14 blades to ensure a harmonious bokeh
  • Robust cine-style lens mechanics
  • Manual, precise and reproducible focus settings with a 300° angle of rotation
  • Larger focus and distance scales for easier focusing even with greater distances, readable on both sides
  • M95 filter thread
  • Exchangeable bayonet interface

For more information, see http://www.schneiderkreuznach.com.

Expected - second half of 2013

The GH5 serial is WG -PP001244.

The SLR Magic lens had a white sticker with number which has probably been ripped off by now.

Strangely enough, but it could be just coincidence, a similar lens has come on the market at ebay from a seller in Carlsbad, California, United States. Now it could very well have travelled that far in just over a week so Im not excluding it.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SLR-Magic-35mm-T2-4-2x-Anamorphot-CINE-Lens-MFT-Mount-/282433781260?hash=item41c25d7e0c:g:r14AAOSwpkFY8XCh

I am considering first contacting Spanish Police to investigate with eBay but I was wondering about other people's experiences regarding possible sightings of their stolen goods and whether to just leave it be...

I'd be interested to know other peoples ideas.

Just a bit strange that this particular lens shows up! I don't expect I will ever see the camera again.

Samyang 35mm F1.2 ED AS UMC CS is a standard angle manual focus lenses for mirrorless cameras with APS-C sensor size. The flow of light is devised based on the uniqueness of the distance from glass to sensor in mirrorless cameras to create optimal performance.

The bright F1.2 aperture secures a fast shutter speed even under the restricted lighting conditions to offer best quality images. It will brighten up your everyday snapshots. Also it creates an outstanding out-of-focus look by highlighting the main object effectively. The versatility of 35mm angle of view is also a charm. It liberates your daily images including landscapes, streets, portraits and even lunch tables and brings the essence and joy of manual focusing to life.

Based on Samyang Optics’ exceptional optical technology, Ultra Multi Coating and two aspherical lenses have been included among nine glasses in seven groups to minimize aberration and unnecessary light dispersion, delivering high resolution from the center to the corners of the image. Along with portability of mirrorless lens, the 62mm of wide filter diameter brings the maximum amount of light into the lens to create the best work of light in photography.

They should be relatively fast (below 2.8), plenty sharp and have an analog, film look like color rendition. I know that everybody wants these, but maybe you have some ideas. Have a great day. V

30mm and 35mm lenses choosing, Sigma, Samyang, others http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/4820/30mm-and-35mm-lenses-choosing-sigma-samyang-others Fri, 05 Oct 2012 09:39:11 +0000 RyanPW 4820@/talks/discussions Perhaps this topic has been talked about to death, but I haven't seen a thread on here about it and I figured some of you could convince me one way or the other on which lens I should be getting.

From my standpoint, the Sigma is better at shooting people and has FAR less breathing issues, but it is not as optically perfect as the Samyang, which is far sharper and has no barrel distortion. On the crop of the GH2, the 35mm makes less sense than it does on aps-c and even less than on a 5d (which I find it looks great on). The sigma doesn't have a dedicated aperture ring, but I do have a Novoflex Nikon to m43 adapter, so I'm personally all set to buy the Sigma, if it is ultimately going to be the right move...I know that, while there is a lot of focus breathing involved with the Samyang, and it isn't the best at shooting people in a 'naturalistic' kind of way like the, it does look great as a general composition tool and would probably end up taking optically better photos with.

Right now I have the tamron 17-50 f2.8, a minolta 24mm f2.8 (which I'm thinking about selling dependent on which lens I'm getting), a SMC 50mm and a Nikon 85mm f1.8d. In many ways, I wish I could just buy each of the voigtlanders and call it a day, but alas, I haven't sold any organs on the black market, yet...

How do you guys way in on these two lenses? Do you think there's a lens in this range that I have't considered enough of yet? I'm also thinking of going with the 25mm leica f1.4 and getting the voigtlander 40mm to go with it, but so far I've just been really enamored with both of these lenses. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Now comes the BUT:
As you can see on the picture this thing is huuge. And heavy. I bought the original Olympus adapter, but still the lense has about 4 mm play at the front. (XY.. not Z ;)

As soon as you touch follow focus things become shaky. I already phoned Oly if there was some kind of clamp to fix it to the rig... but nothing. The cam is mounted in cage, but this lense is simply so long and heave that its to much for the mount i guess.

Any ideas who makes such clamp for a specific diameter? I don´t want to do DIY on this, it should match as bought.

PS:
If you think this would suit better into an existing topic let me know.

I have a Marantz PDM661 solid state audio field recoder and a 35mm Minolta MC W. Rokkor - HH f1.8 lens for sale.

1) Marantz PMD661:

The quality of the internal electronics is so high, that you don't need a preamp (see an input noise ranking of many field recorders here: http://www.audiotranskription.de/mikrofoneingangsrauschen , scroll down to about the middle of the page).

Its a 2 channel recorder with phantom powered XLR inputs. For more info try the internet (or ask me via PM). Its a very solid built (e.g. metal housing) and it is in "like new" condition.

Included is the recorder, DC adapter, 2GB SD card (not in the picture), shoulder strap, manual, software CD, original box.

2) 35mm Minolta MC Rokkor f1.8:

This was one of the best lensen available at its time. Its fast and renders a beautyfull boke. Its sharp and gets rid of the "electronic look" on all digital cameras. It really shines when used for portrait and beauty shots. And because of its metall body and smooth mechanics, the lens has a very nice feel when used.

The lens has a Minolta standart mount and a 55mm filter thread. Its focal length is 35mm and the iris can be opend up to f1.8. Focus distance is marked in meters and feet and close focus limit is about 30cm/1.0ft. (angle of view: 64° , optics: 8 lenses in 6 groups)

The lens is in nearly mint conditions (see picture, can send more just PM me). The only flaw it has, is a painting scratch on the bajonet mount, which was caused by an adapter. This scratch has no influence on functionallity and can't be seen when the lens is mounted to a camera. All lenses are scratch and dust(!) free. The iris is free of oil, all mechanical parts are working smooth and precise and the iris ring snapps in firmly. At all time the lens was handled with great care and stored accordingly.

Included is the lens and front+rear caps.
