FS: Pilotfly H2 With Two Hand Holder http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/15731/fs-pilotfly-h2-with-two-hand-holder Wed, 14 Sep 2016 22:38:28 +0000 ELAW 15731@/talks/discussions Selling my Pilotfly H2 with Two Hand Holder at the link below.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pilotfly-H2-Gimbal-with-Two-Hand-Holder-/182279991192?

Willing to sell directly through Paypal for $1,000.

I've had the gimbal for two months, and it is absolutely in like new condition. I am only missing the manual to the Two Hand Holder. Everything else is there. Total run time is about 30 minutes. I really only film my family for home videos. The reason I am selling is because I have moved to smart phone gimbals as it's a better fit for me personally.

Driftwood ClusterX series 2:│moon│ЅріzZ│nebula│drewnet│Slipstream │Redshift http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/6429/driftwood-clusterx-series-2moon%D0%85r%D1%96zznebuladrewnetslipstream-redshift Mon, 18 Mar 2013 10:03:08 +0000 driftwood 6429@/talks/discussions Cluster X Settings - Series 2

After receiving over a thousand replies in the last 8 weeks in the previous thread we continue the series here from the following link:-

http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/5806/cluster-x-series-1

Whats it all about? Achieving the best looking overall pictures around - throughtout the popular GOPs. The great thing about Cluster X developments is you can mix and match some of the settings to combine into your favourite setting (e.g. GOP1 for 24p and 25p/FSH, GOP 6 For 1080i60/30p and 12/15 for 720p etc...). Slipstream settings do this for you (mixed and matched and with spanning capabilities where we can plus 80% modes on H & iA mode support).

This has been a tough (and still ongoing) challenge, each setting (and ptools patch change) takes an age to check & measure. Its exhausting work - even with 4 cameras on the go. The measuring to check Quantisation, frame sizes and stability adapting one change at a time is pretty debilitating on mental energy. I hope people appreciate waiting for each setting to appear.

All the new Cluster X series settings for each GOP attached below have been tested on the notorious 14-140 Pany sharp lens. Give me feedback.

Its as simple as A, B, C, D, E, F ! Each .ini setting in ptools for Cluster X Series will equate to setA ('DREWnet' 12/15 GOP), setB ('Nebula' 6 GOP), setC ('Spizz' 3 GOP), setD ('Moon' 1 GOP/3 GOP), setE (Slipstream 1) & setF (Slipstream 2) setG (Slipstream 3) and finally setH (Redshift). Any updates will stay on these sets.

"Bitrate is King. Who needs hi powered scaling matrices when enough Bitrate (if you have it) can drive the quantisation..." Quote from my conversation with Dark Shikari - X264 dev 2012

If you enjoy these settings please don't forget to donate to personal-view by clicking on the link above. Gratitude and thanks to Vitaliy Kiselev.

GH4 run 'n gun for 2 separate recorded audio channels: Beachtek MCC-2 adaptor / bracket http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/11486/-gh4-run-n-gun-for-2-separate-recorded-audio-channels-beachtek-mcc-2-adaptor-bracket- Sat, 04 Oct 2014 08:50:38 +0000 tommy 11486@/talks/discussions I just got the GH4 and updated the firmware 2.0 (so I suppose the audio buzz is not there). I can add a Rode VideoMic Pro or a Sennheiser Wireless set, but not both at the same time. As I make professional (low budget) documentaries , 2 separate audio channels (1 mic, 1 wireless) is a must.

I'd like to record the audio on 2 separate (!) audio channels (Mic left, wireless right), directly in to the camera (GH4) If a audio backup is placed on a recorder that is even better.

For years I looked into stuff as the Zoom H6 / Tascam DR-100, etc. I like that the sound is recorded extra (as backup), but it is too much for a one mans show run 'n gun. I also don't want to sync in post. (as an editor will need to do that , and won't be happy with this) . I thought of the DR60, but it is big, complicated, bad batteries, etc. and I don't know if it can feed a stereo audio (separated) channel to the GH4?

So probably you'd suggest a Juiced Link / Beachtek preamp, because a pre amp is important, right?

But the GH4 pre amp (set to the lowest -12) is okay right? So I'd only need to get both channels in the camera. I found the Beachtek MCC-2, and didn't see anything here on the site.

What's your thought? Will this work for my purpose? Or is this not reconmended for a 'pro' . The money isn't the biggest issue, but the 'easy handy workflow' is.

My Pros: - no batteries, small, 3 hot shoes, (receiver, mic, light) - perhaps possible to put below the camera - cheap

Cons: - Would a pre amp be much better? - Mini jack vs (balanced?) XLR (would that be much better)

I also have a sennheiser shotgun with XLR, but it is quite big for the GH4. As the VMP already has 3.5 and sennheiser wireless also has that cable, that seems more logical (and smaller).

The Raid 2: Berandal (BTS) http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/10218/the-raid-2-berandal-bts Tue, 22 Apr 2014 00:03:56 +0000 Manu4Vendetta 10218@/talks/discussions The first part (The Raid: Redemption) was a success acclaimed by critics and the public. A good thriller movie along with its low budget and as remembered; recorded with the Panasonic AG-AF100 and GH2 (presumably) as B-cam.

The second part was recorded with Red Epic, Red Scarlet and GoPro HD Hero 3. But interesting all the work that's involved in the actual realization.

TRAP (2013) - MY SHORT FILM I DID LAST YEAR (Shot on GH2) http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/10406/trap-2013-my-short-film-i-did-last-year-shot-on-gh2 Mon, 19 May 2014 11:31:30 +0000 boriginal 10406@/talks/discussions Trap by Brian Mendez explores religion and beliefs, the prison system, and consumerism. Through the depiction of three different yet interrelated character studies, the filmmaker challenges viewers to reflect on their own decision making process and how societal influences may dictate one’s own state of being, one’s own reality.

This short film was shot on a hack GH2 during my last semester of undergrad film school.

If you like the version on top, watch this, the unseen version.

Sony Super White 109 IRE 1300% Dynamic Range S-LOG 2 http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/10133/sony-super-white-109-ire-1300-dynamic-range-s-log-2 Thu, 10 Apr 2014 08:33:11 +0000 apefos 10133@/talks/discussions With the possibility to use focal reducers on the low budget route, I restarted to do some researches about Sony cameras. Also the Sony full frame is improving a lot so it deserves some attention. Used NEX are very cheap at this moment so I downloaded some native mts clips to confirm if the aliasing/moire problem was that bad or not. I am doing some tests with deinterlace and also found the QTGMC which can do 60i to 60p conversion and/or remove 24p and 60p progressive shimmering with promissing results, it seems to be a good approach to solve the aliasing in old NEX cameras.

For my surprise I found in the waveform that the Sony NEX F3 and 5N can record highlights up to 109 IRE, almost 10% above 100, and this 109 value can be lowered to under 100 in post to a nice improvement in dynamic range avoiding highlight clip. It is amazing how good results from lowering 109 to under 100 can delivery just lowering video gain to 91 or 93 %. It does not turn the highlights into a grey mass, there is gradation and texture in the super whites.

This super white combined with DRO (5 levels of shadow lifting) can give a interesting dynamic range result. If the QTGMC can reduce the aliasing and shimmering to an acceptable level the old cheap NEX will become very useful with the lens turbo, more wide, 1 fstop more light. The iso 1600 from the old NEX cleans OK with Neatvideo.

It seems there is a new life to the old cheap NEX-F3 for who cannot afford the new A7s or the new A6000.

Interesting reading about the super white 109 ire and sony S-LOG 2 1300% dynamic range:

Music Video GH2: Creating a vintage look http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/9790/music-video-gh2-creating-a-vintage-look- Tue, 04 Mar 2014 16:16:27 +0000 dlzn 9790@/talks/discussions I came up with a concept about a midget traveling around the city, kind of like Alice In Wonderland. Video shot - hand held - and edited by me. Using Panasonic GH2 and just Minolta MD 50mm F1.7. A few close-ups were done with the Sigma 19mm F2.8. Hack Flowmotion 2.

2 M LX and Rapressão http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/9110/2-m-lx-and-rapressao Mon, 16 Dec 2013 03:33:21 +0000 maxr 9110@/talks/discussions Hey PV's =)
Today I had to re-watch this video for sending it to someone it appears in it. Despite being shot with a 1/2.3" sensor, it's the grade I made for it that "saddens" me more; ok not a drama :P

As a more positive footnote recently I found Chullage in the subway. He's the guy responsible for the last music; the whole Rapressão (rap{re}pression) album is available for free download -- HERE. This music is a mix of folk portuguese resistance music legend Zeca Afonso (Eles comem tudo) and his own stuff. Chullage himself is an urban icon, was one of the first hip hop artists I listen when I came to Portugal and with no doubt the more social involved one - he runs several social / activist projects. This is second time I approach him, as I already offered my free services to him and his friends some years ago in an african social movements forum. Anyway, so this time I just wanted to tell him that I had used his music in the video and of course to thank him for making freely available. For my total surprise, Chullage said that he had watch the video and then with an open smille he said I´m not selling music anymore, from now on it's gonna be free • gashô

Possible ProRes external recorder hack http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3974/possible-prores-external-recorder-hack Thu, 19 Jul 2012 14:20:00 +0000 Brian202020 3974@/talks/discussions The rumor is Blackmagic will eventually release a firmware update for the Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 that will add ProRes support. The rumor is they are concentrating on releasing the Cinema Camera, so the Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 update got put on the back burner. Blackmagic has said most of the Cinema Camera's internals come from the Hyperdeck Shuttle 2, and that will record ProRes. I'm writing this just incase Blackmagic decides to scrap the update or incase the rumors just aren't true. I believe the Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 firmware could easily be manipulated to add ProRes support. The Hyperdeck Studio records ProRes as well, and both the Hyperdeck Studio and the Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 get firmware updates via the Blackmagic Hyperdeck Utility software for Mac or PC. I know nothing about hacking or programing so I may be way off base here, but I would think you could take some of the code from the Hyperdeck Studio's firmware and put it in a hacked version of the Hyperdeck Shuttle 2's firmware. The Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 is $330. This would be by far the cheapest ProRes external recorder.

Does anyone think this is possible? Does anyone want to take this project on?

My cinematography showreel (a lot of GH2 stuff in there). http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2240/my-cinematography-showreel-a-lot-of-gh2-stuff-in-there. Fri, 10 Feb 2012 10:33:30 +0000 Gabel 2240@/talks/discussions I hope I don't get warned for blatant self-advertising, but I just wanted to share my shoowreel here, there's some GH2 stuff in there (some of it hacked, one shot in the HBR mode). Here's a breakdown: First shot, done with HBR mode and Lomo OCT-19 primes 0:26 Driftwood GOP-3 with Nikon AI primes

0:37 HBR with Lomos

0:48 Cbrandin 66mbit with Lomos

0:56 HBR with Lomos

01:02 Cbrandin 66mbit with Lomos

01:03 Driftwood GOP-3 with Nikon AIs

01:11 HBR with Lomos

01:18 Stock AVCHD with Nikon AIs

01:37 Driftwood GOP-3 with Nikon AIs

01:40 Cbrandin 66mbit with Lomos

01:42 HBR with Lomos

01:55 Driftwood GOP-3 with Nikon AIs

02:04 HBR with Lomos

02:14 HBR with Lomos

(sorry for the double spacing, but otherwise it would all just fall behind each other)

This really shows what an amazing camera the GH2 is! Even unhacked it looks amazing (I think what I got with HBR looks the best to me, but that has more to with my work).

There's also some anamorphic stuff in there, done with my generic anamorphic on an AF100 with a Nikon AI 35mm (third shot, you'll recognize the rest)

And if you like, feel free to check in my site or like me on Facebook!
