Still a big fan of the camera for low-cost shoots.

We used the Panasonic 20mm for the opening shots (would have preferred the entire shoot on this lens but we were in a time crunch) and the Panasonic 14mm-140mm for everything else. A couple focus issues, but overall happy with the content from such a short time frame.

Here is the final product:

A train journey through India with my GH2 and no hack http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/10263/a-train-journey-through-india-with-my-gh2-and-no-hack Sat, 26 Apr 2014 21:34:22 +0000 PeterParkorr 10263@/talks/discussions A video made with footage shot in April 2013 on a luxury train tour through Maharashtra.

Took me forever to edit wading through hundreds of clips! Second time I have used Magic Bullet Looks and first time using Warp Stabilizer in Premiere Pro CS6, lots of the footage was shaky because it was mostly filmed on a moving train (and my camera movement was pretty terrible at times but this was definitely a run/sprint and gun scenario).

Pretty happy with the outcome altho the laptop I coloured the film on is quite yellow it seems. Still not using a hack...

Wide Angle converter for 14-140mm lens ? http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/7605/wide-angle-converter-for-14-140mm-lens- Thu, 25 Jul 2013 20:11:47 +0000 TruHype 7605@/talks/discussions Hi,

I was wondering if any wide conversion lens could fit on the 14-140mm panasonic lens, like the "Wide Conversion Lens DMW-GWC1" works on the Panasonic 14mm f2.5 ? The thread is 62mm, so would some converters like this work ? http://www.ebay.fr/itm/Impact-DVP-WA65-62-62mm-Wide-Angle-Converter-Lens-/110823536775?pt=Camera_Lenses&hash=item19cd98f887 or http://www.amazon.fr/Olympus-WCON-Convertisseur-grand-angle/dp/B0000511RI

Thanks for answering.

Lumix 14-140mm AFS problem http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/7261/lumix-14-140mm-afs-problem Sat, 15 Jun 2013 15:45:34 +0000 WarLightUK 7261@/talks/discussions Hi everybody,

I meant to ask this for a long time but kept forgting about it.

My 14-140mm Lumix lens is not behaving itself in AFS mode on my GH2. It just can not focus. It is working fine with GH1, it is working fine in AFC mode. But won't work with GH2. No other lens have this issue on GH2 so I don't think it is a camera body issue.

I don't use Auto Focus for filming and rarely use it for stills anyway but it is an annoying issue when you need it...

Anybody had a similar problem? Any thoughts?

Thanks a lot

Reducing the GH2's sharpness on the 14-140mm kit lens http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/6252/reducing-the-gh2s-sharpness-on-the-14-140mm-kit-lens- Mon, 25 Feb 2013 14:49:33 +0000 TruHype 6252@/talks/discussions Hi,

I own the GH2 with the 14-140mm Lumix lens, and I just started making films. I really like the 14-140mm, it has a very fast autofocus (for filming skateboard or whatever...), and when zoomed in it has a very nice DOF. But the problem is, it is way too sharp (even with sharpness at -2 and the Apocalypse Now DrewNet 'Soft' hack 444 matrix). I bought the GH2 thinking that it would have the same "Smooth" effect as the Canon T2i, 7D, 5D but with more resolution... because the GH2 IS a DLSR (or should I say DSLM). I know I could have this effect if I use non-panasonic or vintage lenses, but right know I own only the Lumix 14-140, and I'm not buying new lenses right now (or anamorphic adapters). The videos with those kit lens looks too much like a cheep Hi-rez camcorder and not like a DSLR or Cinematic or RED video... I know, I know, I should use a short DOF, reduce everything to -2... bla bla bla... But the 14-140 is still too sharp. It maybe even look a tad better on the GH1...

Now is there any type of HACK made especially for that type of lens, or any HACK that really softens the image down (canon-like) without a big loss of quality ?

I've already tried "soft" hacks (apocalypse now...etc), but it doesn't change anything, the edges are still too rough and sharp.

  • I would like that kind of soft light and professional effect from Canon cameras (but with better quality) :

  • And not this too sharp/camcorder look effect (even though it's a cool video) :

  • But the best would be this effect (those are NOT Lumix lenses) :

(And yes, I like parkour)

I know that there are already some posts that are about the same, but none of them really helps me.

Please help me !

Harvey.

B+W Special Effects Cine Filters x3 Retro [multi-image] 62mm http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/6839/b-w-special-effects-cine-filters-x3-retro-multi-image-62mm- Mon, 29 Apr 2013 10:34:35 +0000 bheath 6839@/talks/discussions I'm selling these weird and ?wonderful? multi-image filters.

I had them with my Braun Super 8 camera, and now they are collecting dust.

There are three filters in the set:

  1. [A+ Condition] Multi-Image 3x Prism Consists of high quality glass with three equally sized prism surfaces that meet in the center. It produces three identical images whose positioning can be changed by turning the rotating mount.

  2. [Water Damaged!] geletin core, but still usable]3x Color Prism The 3x Color Prism attachment produces the same effect as the 3x Prism Parallel, but adds a gradual, soft blending of colors. The three parallel images can be positioned by rotation.

  3. [A+ Condition] Multi-Image 5x Prism This prism contains a square prism in the center of the attachment and four trapezoidshaped prisms in the outer area. It produces one central image surrounded by four identical images which may be moved around the square by rotation.

Give your movies an authentic groovy look with these high quality German filters!

BTW: I'm also wanting to sell my 14-140mm Lumix. Hardly ever use it - $350.00 + shipping + $10.00 donation to this site.

$60.00 takes all three filters. Shipping + $5.00 donation to this site will be extra.

Thanks!

PS: I don't have all the pictures here on the page, but I could send them to you if you wish:)

gh2+14-140mm : focusing points in advance... http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/5111/gh2-14-140mm-focusing-points-in-advance... Mon, 05 Nov 2012 13:04:20 +0000 magnifico 5111@/talks/discussions I just want to keep in memory (marking with some tape my 14-140mm) to points where to focus. The problem is that gh2 and 14-140 just loose "memory" : that means even in manual focus mode, when I move the focus ring and I am back to the mark I did, the image is not focused any more ! 14-140 mm is given as a video lens : how can I prepare in advance some points to focus and go from one to another while recording (in manual focus mode) ?

I just recently acquired a GH2 with the 14-140mm lens. When walking with the lens, the lens keeps extending to full zoom not staying in the position i left it in which is really annoying . Is this normal?

GH2 14-140mm kit lens a hackable item? http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3064/gh2-14-140mm-kit-lens-a-hackable-item Mon, 30 Apr 2012 19:05:48 +0000 davidp158 3064@/talks/discussions I have the GH2 14-140mm kit lens, and I was wondering how the aperture interacts with the focal length while zooming. I understand that the 14-140mm lens isn't "constant apterture", but I was wondering if the aperture could be hacked to stay at one setting while zooming. If so, I could deal with the exposure changes in post. No doubt, a better lens with true constant aperture is preferred, but I just wondered if this was something that could be hacked like other areas of the GH2. Wishful thinking until I can afford better glass.
