Gh2 noob easy hack

Hi, I've just bought a gh2 at low price with a 14-42 only for video purpose. I need a simple hack that remove the time limit and that is reliable. I'm not searching for high bitrate, I like to use 1080 50p and 50mb because I send videos to local tv. Can someone suggest me a hack with this features? Or can someone suggest me how to hack the original firmware by Panasonic? I'm able to use ptool.

Jitter/choppy playback - solution? GH4 same issue?

I'm still having trouble to playback MOV 1080 60p footage from my GH3 on my macs (a macbook retina displays and a MacPro 8core 24GB Ram). Those files playback normally on the camera, but it's quite choppy or jittery on my computer, specially on pan movements. Does it has a solution? conversion or transcoding? Is it a mac problem? a codec problem? or GH3 problem? I also got jitter recoding on all setting of 1080 60p, using my other camera, NEX 5N, that also records 1080 60p AVCHD I got no problems at all, the files playbacks just right, but I also think the NEX footage is 59,94i converted on camera to 60p or 59,94p... I don't now... I think if maybe the gh3 were capable to records 60i in MOV mode it wouldn't happen.... I think the problem is due the progressive fields, or YUV to RGB conversion problem....I don't know... because when I transcode the files using 5dtoRGB software, it gets better, less jitter, but they still there! If we're having trouble to playback 1080p 60p, can you imagine what gonna happen with the 4k files? I've pre-order a GH4, but I'm thinking twice if it's worth to... I don't want more headache with playback issues... I'm thinking to move to Sony A7s.... That's SAD!!! Anyone knows the real reason why we can't playback those files??? what should I say to my clients that got choppy footage? my camera is rubbish! or your computer is rubbish!??? WTF? That's just sad!

Good 1080/60i hack to match a AG-HMC80

Hello all. I'm brand new to the GH2 scene. Great site!

I'm using a GH2 as a wide-shot B cam for a Christmas Parade next weekend. I will be doing a multi-cam edit in Premiere using the footage of the GH2 and the tripod panning shots of a Panasonic AG-HMC80 using the PH mode: Approx. 21 Mbps (VBR).

I noticed the stock 1080/60i preset in the GH2 only goes to 17Mbps. I know there's a ton of talk about progressive hacks, but is there a good hack that spans properly and gives me a higher quality and bit rate for 1080/60i footage?

The show is being produced for broadcast on a local cable channel.

Hi Everyone! I hacked my GH2 using stable settings and is working 100% fine!

Either way, today I can shoot at 1080 50 i / 1080 24p / 720 25p

Does anyone knows a hack that would allow me to shoot at 1080 25p?

GF1 patch suggestions for progressive 1080

Hello,
I owned the gf1 for a year and decided yesterday it was time to hack the firmware and get fullHD on it. I spent a lot of time looking through the patches available, tips, how to use the ptool and went through a hacked firmware update successfully.

Here is what I'm after:
I am a visual effects artist and wanted to shoot 1080 progressive 24 fps using the fantastic 20mm pancake lens and planning to do tracking and augment the shots with visual effects of some kind. I don't need fast action shooting and am aiming to keep things as progressive as possible at the highest res possible (I'll breakdown the footage into individual frames which I can run on houdini and maya later).

I'm not fully clear whether 1080p 24fps is indeed achievable on the gf1, any help and suggestion on this or potentially the next best option for progressive frames at the highest resolution would be much appreciated.

Also little help on how to enable fullHD and choice of format once the fimrware is installed would be appreciated too
