patch: GOLGOP3-13-MAX_Candidate 2
lens: 20mm/1.7
picture profile "standard 0/0/0/0"
foto = control picture
30pin24 = 80% mode
30p = HBR
foto and 60p resized to 1920x1080
here the streamparser results.
THANKS again for this wonderful patch.
I like the "I Frame MAX" approach.
I have a Sandisk 64GB/95mbs card and do not need spanning.
so increase the settings to the absolute maximum please! :-)
1.3 is awesome, especially in hbr 30p is where im seeing it shine, i was running sedna before for the longest time and hbr always had weird artifacts and interlacing in grass and such, it would almost look better sometimes deinterlaced than viewing it progressive, but with 1.3 just view it as progressive and it looks amazing, hard to tell from 24p sometimes (i film action sports and hate the look of 24p so i rarely use it)
@bkmcwd thanks for your work.
THANK YOU very much.
Here is another test I did.
patch: bkmcwd Valkyrie 444 TYPE-ZERO2 Candidate1.4 'Apocalypse Now' with cbrandin 'Pure Original 444 Matrix' and 'Modified 444 Matrix'
lens: 20mm/1.7
picture profile "standard 0/0/0/0"
foto = control picture (thats how I want my film to look!!! just in many many more FPS than 1)
30pin24 = 80% mode
25p/30p = HBR
foto and 720p resized to 1920x1080
Unfortunately we have many artefacts in the HBR modes and in the 50i/60i modes.
I still like the "maximal I frame" idea. I also like 60 FPS.
So i want this to work, but at the moment I just can't use it.
stream parser
artefacts...
@Berlin Many thanks for testing my settings and feedbacks! :-)
Is artifacts which you have pointed out the mosquito noise? In this matrix, it may be difficult for stopping these on all the scenes. About Valkyrie 444 TYPE-ZERO2, since I will release C1.5 soon, please also try it.
@brodieg Thanks for your comment! :-) Please also try C1.5.
NEW!
bkmcwd Valkyrie 444 TYPE-ZERO2 Candidate1.5 'Apocalypse Now' with cbrandin 'Pure Original 444 Matrix' and 'Modified 444 Matrix' - Seta.ini - Released 09/10/2012
This is the version which adjusted more soft the matrix of 1080i and 720p in C1.4.
I am not sure whether it is best among C1.3, C1.4, and C1.5.
Please try these and compare. And I am very glad if feedback can be got.
*If this is also still unstable, I will further adjust.
Special thanks to @har_k, @syoushow, @Tobsen, @peternap, @jul, @towi, @flaschus and @Berlin! :-)
Of course, thanks to @cbrandin and KING @driftwood!
*24p is the same as usual.
Warning! : In this C1.5, HBR may freeze. Please use C1.6. : http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/comment/91749#Comment_91749

*I especially recommend you use with SanDisk 95MB/s 64GB SDXC card.
@bkmcwd It's been stormy for 3 days now so it wasn't ideal conditions to test 720-60 in candidate1.4..... But I really wanted to try it out. Not much going on so the bitrate is low but it's not bad. This was at 1600 iso using a tack sharp 50mm Canon lens so I wouldn't want it to look any softer. With another lens, it may be too soft. I'll try tomorrow if it clears up.
@peternap Thanks for trying C1.4! :-) There is also 60p which the bitrate goes up in a static scene in other persons' settings. However, since they freeze in a motion scene, it is necessary to hold down only 60p to the low bitrate. So, I also think that your result is not bad.
@bkmcwd I wa kind of quiet the last weeks - testing my company's new FS700 ;) great cam but shitty stock lens! My colleague is going on a trip with our GH2. Is Valkyrie 1.5 stable? So far, we shoot it with c1.3 and voigtländers and are quite happy. Should I upgrade it?
@Tobsen Hi mate! :-)
"Is Valkyrie 1.5 stable? So far, we shoot it with c1.3 and voigtländers and are quite happy. Should I upgrade it?"
Again, honestly, I am not sure which is the best.
If I clarify, the matrix of C1.3 and C1.4 is the same. C1.5 is another matrix. The difference between C1.3 and C1.4 is only 720p. Although I think that C1.4 is better than C1.3, sufficient test about stability has not been done yet. However, IMO, I think that thes all are stable in the same grade. Therefore, at the time of now, I cannot tell you "You should." Furthermore, supposing you use voigtländers, C1.3 or C1.4 may be better. It is because C1.5 is softer than C1.3 and C1.4.
We need more tests.
yo! Valkyrie flat 4 720p,, no hangups... testing continues,
14mm 2.5 w/10x close-up adapt,,,wb- CLOUD
@bkmcwd thanks for clarification mate :) I think I'll stick to 1.3 then, or upgrade to 1.4 if I got some time tomorrow.
@flaschus Thanks for report! Looks nice. :-)
"no hangups"
This is my biggest concerns.
@Tobsen I also try C1.5 more. If saying strictly, in C1.3 and C1.4, artifacts will appear under specific conditions. However, depending on the lens used, it may be satisfactory at all. Since I aim at the to the last safest setting, eventually I may adopt the line of C1.5. In C1.4(C1.3) and C1.5, a character may be considerably different. When you have time, I want you to compare by all means. :-)
@bkmcwd - I successfully merged duartix 24h timeHBusteR 2.0 setb.ini with Valkyrie 444 TYPE-ZERO2_Candidate1.5. 30HBR timeHBusteR time lapses just fine while 1080 24P Cinema, 1080 24P VMM 80% and 720 60P continue to work as normal modes without degrading effects.
I thought you might find it interesting in that I tested all modes with my badly lighted 'stairwell' test setup - 1 minute panning clips in normal non-timelapse modes at ISO 3200 with AF on and 3 minute still clips at ISO 640 with manual focus in 'time lapse' HBR 30P mode at SS 2.5 without experiencing any difficulties (no hangs and the like).
StreamParser analysis of the clips look normal to me. I was pleasantly surprised as many hacks (especially high bit rate ones) exhibit some sort of weakness in at least one mode when subjected to that environment. I haven't had time to really 'eyeball' the pixels but TYPE-ZERO2_Candidate1.5 was a really solid performer.
Anyone wishing to try out this 'merge' should review my oct 9 &10 posts in the GH2 - 2.5fps AVCHD 24h Timebuster/TimeHBusteR 2.0 settings thread (http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/comment/91284#Comment_91284)
@bkmcwd yup, will go out and test C1.5 next week once, the camera is back from France ;)
@Bonzai Hi mate! :-) It seems that you have challenged the interesting trial. I am not sure about TB. However, I am glad if TYPE-ZERO2 is helpful to you.
@Tobsen Many thanks for feedbacks from you especially in PAL modes! :-)
I have a GH2 since May and tried different hacks.. To me your settings are the most stable and suitable for my needs.. I really like golgop3-13 c1 and c2.. I can't use 444 matrix because in HBR and AVCHD i get rain like pulsing noise, also with original driftwood settings.. in 24p it's ok..
Thanks for using my settings! :-)
Since I am giving top priority to stability, I am glad to hear the comment from you.
@ GOP3ZILLA lovers :-)
"GOP3ZILLA_3_Candidate 2"
I release the 2nd candidate for "GOP3ZILLA_3" setting.
This is the simple setting which harnessed the feature of the stock as it was.
This version is improved only in 720p. IMO, this 720p is better than C1.
Please try it! And many thanks for your feedbacks!
If this is also still unstable, I will further adjust.
*Of course, already combined with excellent audio tune @thepalalias's "Pasadena_Pulse_Audio_V2_Beta2"
*Except 720p, it is altogether the same as C1.
NOTE:
*Although bit rate setups are quite high, the bit rate which actually appears are lower than these. Since the actual bit rate changes by the object to shoot, please confirm by yourself.(Max bitrate : about 100M in 24p, about 75M in HBR.)
*24H and 24L are high quality 3GOP setting with mega size I-frames.
*24p80%(30p) is available in 24H & 24L both.
*60i, 50i, HBR30p and HBR25p are also high quality and stable 3GOP settings.
*720/50p and 720/60p are 6GOP and 9GOP. It has tuned up so that the bit rate at the time of motion may go up rather than the time of statics.
*I especially recommend you use with SanDisk 95MB/s 64GB SDXC card.
*In camera playback is available in all rec mode, at least available after reboot the camera.(Not tested full yet, but probably)
*EX Tele, iA mode work.(Not tested full yet, but probably)
*Spanning in 24H, 24L with SanDisk 95MB/s 64GB SDXC Card. In other rec mode, need test.
*Spanning in other cards needs to be tested.
Candidate 1.4 I was shooting a police briefing tonight and was bored to death, so I went outside to get some Broll. While I had the AC160 running on some college students, a woman who claimed to be a candidate for city council came up and started talking to the camera.
I locked it down and grabbed the GH2 to get B shots. Light was horrible. ISO 2000 50 1.4 Canon lens, standard -2 I flat love this setting.
