Canon EF Lenses on Sony A7 II

Sony released Firmware 2.0 for the nearly year-old A7 II today, though it was put up a few hours early by several Sony sites in Europe, so those who wanted could do the upgrade last night if they so desired. This firmware was billed primarily for bringing uncompressed RAW capability to the A7 II, which it does, though I honestly think that buries the lead. The standout feature of the new firmware is adding phase-detect capabilities to the A7 II when used with adapted lenses. This capability was first seen on the A7R II earlier this year, but few thought that was something the A7 II would gain via firmware update.

Thought I would add this Music vid/Short film I shot for my band. Not a lot of people using this cam for video it seems.

Really it is my stills camera, buts it's what I had available at the time. Some moire issues but it did perform fine in -25c temps (filmed in Astana, Kazakhstan).

The black and white section was using a bmpcc in the uk.

I'm more of an audio guy than video, so 'graded' with filmconvert. Used Canon fd 24mm and 50mm with a Tiffen black pro mist 1/8

Anyone using this camera for video work? If so, what lenses are you using? I am currently using the 35/2.8 and 55/1.8 and am looking into expanding to wide-angle and portrait lens, or possibly swith to Loxia or Batis series of lenses.

Anyone using this camera for video work?

@sohus I do mate, it works pretty cool. I use it with many vintage prime lenses. It turned to get my first choice camera for the still photography.
