China: Anti-socialist position on patents and copyright
  • On December 7, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) published its annual report “World Intellectual Property Performance”. According to this document, in 2019 the number of patent applications received by the State Intellectual Property Office of the PRC reached 1.4 million. China continues to be in first place in the world in this indicator, which is more than two times more than in the same country , next after the PRC.

The report notes that China is currently making efforts to improve protection of intellectual property rights. This demonstrates the great potential of Chinese innovation, as well as the increased attention that the PRC pays to the work on the protection of intellectual property rights.

"The work to protect intellectual property rights concerns the modernization of public administration and management skills, is associated with high-quality development, is related to the happiness of people, and also affects the external openness and state security of the country," General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping said at collective training in the field of intellectual property rights protection in China of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee.

Through many years of efforts, the PRC has achieved historic success in protecting intellectual property rights. In 2019, the number of active patents for inventions in China reached 1.862 million, the number of patents per 10 thousand people reached 13.3. With the help of the Patent Cooperation Treaty, the PRC has filed 59,000 patent applications, ranking first in the world in this indicator.

In the first 10 months, the number of patent applications for inventions reached 1.232 million, an increase of 11.2% over the same period in 2019. The number of international patent applications under the Patent Cooperation Treaty reached 55 thousand, an increase of 23.5%.

Intellectual property protection is the protection of innovation. The report "World Intellectual Property Performance", which was published in 2019 by WIPO, notes that the main trend in the development of world innovative events is their concentration in the big cities of five countries, including China. According to this year's report, China is ranked 14th in the world for innovation, ranking first among middle-income countries.

China has consistently adhered to the concept of a community of shared humanity, pursues the principles of openness, inclusiveness, sustainability and the common good, and actively participates in the governance of the intellectual property rights system on a global scale within WIPO.

The PRC has practically joined all the main international conventions on intellectual property, together with more than 80 countries, international and regional organizations, it has established cooperation relations.

Note that all PRC is doing is directly following foreign advice, including US advice.

Bureaucrats will never tell you that nice numbers mean fully opposite things to ones that they state.

It means that private property on means of production (information) is widening and it means that movement further away from socialism happens.

Socialism stand for quick abolishing of all intellectual rights int heir modern form, including copyright and patents.
