  • Starting April 11 Panasonic will change prices for all lenses, camcorders and cameras in Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Russia, China.

Price change will range from 15% to 45% depending on the item and country.

  • You are probably right and I hope they will stay in business with this strategy... I still want to buy GH series in the future. :)

  • They shod because the profit is made by selling in high numbers.

They sell in smaller and smaller numbers.

As far as I know now around 60% of all cameras is bough by 10% top earners. Hence focus on them.

  • Well, they don't care for poor guys.

  • They should lower their already high prices, not rise them even more!

And they wonder how did their camera division decline so much in the last couple of years... I tell them how: with entry level cameras in 600$ territory (instead of 400$), mid range cameras in 1200$ territory (instead of 800$) and lenses which cost double as they should at launch.
