Using M42 adapter instead of T2 to m43 (for digiscoping)?

    I'm buying adapters for attaching GH2 on my ETX90 scope. The ETX adapter that has the T2 thread, so I need the T2 to m43. I see some people discussing using M42 instead of T2, since they have identical screw threads but the thread pitches are different, 1mm vs 0.75mm.

    Some say you can easily use M42, while others say it won't even screw on properly. Anyone here with experience on this topic?
