The poem is written by the Frisian poet Durk van der Ploeg, a dutch writer and poet. His work is mainly published in the Frisian language and he is a Knight of the Order of Oranje Nassau.

The images portrait Frisian landscape architect Siem de Vlas working in his studio and visiting the grave of the famous dutch landscape architect Lucas Pieters Roodbaard (1782 - 1851). Roodbaard laid out many English landscape gardens in major cities in the Netherlands.

The Frisian languages are a closely related group of Germanic languages, spoken by about 500,000 members of Frisian ethnic groups, who live on the southern fringes of the North Sea in the Netherlands and Germany. Didn't have time for color correction. So this is just a test! Watch original quality view setting although youtube compression won't let you enjoy it on full resolution. If you want to watch this clip on full scale, you will need 2 monitors Full HD on landscape mode. For some of you would seem ridiculous but I would like to know if someone has tried this before. The test itself is very poor executed and poor equipment, I just did it in 5 minutes. Didn't have the same lenses or the same cameras. Is there a program like making photo panoramas but for videos as well? Will this be as good as anamorphic solution wide images? Let me know about your thoughts. Cheers!!!

Welterwerk Filmkompani recently shot this short promo for Sagene, a district of Oslo, Norway. Shot exclusively on our hacked GH2. Zeiss glass! :) Time was short, and the budget was ridiculously low - but we’re quite happy with the result.

The rain-like, diagonal noise showed up in quite a few shots, but disappeared when transcoding in 5DtoRGB. Weird! Other than that, the GH2 - and the hack - performed like expected: top notch!

Enjoy! And if you haven’t already, check out Welterwerks own promo video: http://vimeo.com/welterwerk/welterwerk

When Linda approached me with filming her wedding this autumn I was struck by the fact that there were to be no guests! They recently had gone through some difficult times and felt that a party was inappropriate. So instead of a church full of people there were only six of us: the couple, a priest, a girl by the piano, the photographer and me. Never the less I must say Linda was more than capable to fill that church with joy!

Solo shooter: 2 GH2s with @Driftwood Cluster 6 Drewnet 25/50p, Mostly shot on SLRMagic 12mm and Voigtlander 25mm. Panny 20mm, Canon FD 35-105 and Sony RX100 for the ceremony. Benro AF2 sticks, Manfrotto 561BHDV-1 (best tool I ever got!) and a modified Steadicam Smoothee.

Edit in Sony Vegas. CC with mostly curves and a little Magic Bullet Cosmo for a few close ups.

Hey guys! I was fortunate enough to be an early tester of Driftwoods Apocalypse Now using the beta version (C1) of cbrandons 444 matrix. (thanks Driftwood!) I was starting production on a 60sec promo in July and being a risk taker decided to deploy it into real work in the field. This promo is a small representation of the capabilities Apocalypse Now settings can give us. I used all vintage glass (takumar) and the 12mm hyper prime by Slr magic, Kessler pocket dolly, glidecam, and also shots on sticks. Put through the paces in static and motion shots, and pushed hard in CC in post. I had no need for spanning, making this a real winner for my style of commercial work. Music recorded using Logic 9. FCPX for post work. We have a great tool in the Gh2. It's seriously 'the little engine that could' Its own limitations are something to overcome with creativity. This is my second year making films and I want to encourage you all in this...that the limits of any camera cannot stop someone from creating great work. So load up, and head out! Cheers. Comments welcome.

I shall have to dispense of them with the tear gas after this. On one shoot I had to make space with a bunch of other GH2 shooters and sure enough someone nabbed my lumix 1.7 pancake lens. Positive I didn't loose it because I have a routine and know where I keep it but that little bugger is easy to grab.

Time to hire the A team.

"Into The Heart" music video http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/4737/into-the-heart-music-video Thu, 27 Sep 2012 14:02:08 +0000 ChainsawFilms 4737@/talks/discussions Not being especially technical I don't contribute much to this forum, though I do enjoy reading it and have learnt plenty. While I can't contribute much regarding cameras, I hope you don't mind me continuing to post the short films I've made over the last few years.

This one is a music video for the local (Brighton) band Mirrors. This was a "challenge film" for local filmmakers, we had permission to use their music and make a short film, but not a music video, inspired by their music. So while I've labelled this a music video, and it does feature the band briefly, I don't consider it a music video in the strictest sense.

This was mainly shot on a Sony EX1, and some steadicam work with a HMC151. Post production took far longer than we expected, as it typical, but we're learning as we go and this has loads of CG. I don't think there's a shot in here that hasn't been messed around with in some capacity.

Anyway, hope you enjoy it.

Here's a music video I shot with my friends for an up & coming Atlanta band.

Everything you see in the video is shot with water in front of the lens, sandwiched between UV filters. We varied the water level depending on the effect we wanted - sometimes quite subtle, other times really pronounced.

All the daytime scenes are shot with Driftwood's Sedna 'A' patch and the night scenes are Canis Majoris 'Night'.

Hope you guys like it.

Silent Short Film - Assumptions Killed Her Love http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/4729/silent-short-film-assumptions-killed-her-love Thu, 27 Sep 2012 06:06:22 +0000 jasonkkchan 4729@/talks/discussions This is my latest short film - silent genre - shot on an unhacked GH2. Though I love the hack - sometimes I hack it back for efficiency of workflow. Played the music on my MIDI keyboard and recorded directly into Garage Band - which worked flawlessly - a great simple scoring software. I didn't know there was a scoring project function in Garage Band - similar to how Soundtrack Pro used to work - with the movie playing whilst you score or record live. Lenses used - 14mm pancake, 40mm Konica 1.8, Pentax 25mm c-mount 1.4.

Anyway, it's a fun little short - please check it out and let me know what you think.

I'm posting here to promote my short horror film, called Insane Madness. It's a short film, inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft and films like Evil Dead that I've helped co-write. The film plays with human mind, never knowing what's real and what's a dream. It's a period piece, set in the 80s, which we will shoot using time correct techniques in effects (all make up here) and visually. As such, the best way to do it is to shoot it on 16mm, especially as it's soon too late!

So my post here is to essentially spread the word, hoping both to get some donators (if you like the idea) and also hoping for people to share it, to spread the word. We've managed to raise $205 in the first 24 hours, plus we've got over 80 likes on our Facebook page in the same time (including Harold Skinner, gaffer for the majority of Fincher's movies).
