A little study on the spectacular views of the old town of Salzburg in Austria, mostly seen from the Mönchsberg. I spent a few days there in April, and the natural light these days was so clear and yet so colorful, that I had to share these images with you ;-)

Anamorphic Music Video

I recently shot and edited this 2X anamorphic music video, rigged up on my DJI Ronin-M. The Kowa 16-H is already heavy, but add an SLR Magic Rangefinder in front, and along with a DSLR, the gimbal is at its length and weight limit.

The band footage was shot in 3 short hours after a last-minute location change, and we just managed to fully cover the song, having thrown out unnecessary parts of the storyboard. The color effects were shot non-anamorphic, on the NX1 with 16-50 OIS and the trusty GH2 with an 85mm f1.4 Zeiss C/Y prime (pretty sure it's still running either Moon T6 or 7.)

While there ultimately are a lot of cross-processing effects, the 2X anamorphic look still adds something unmistakable to my eyes. I made the decision early on to sacrifice 4K for an increase in frame rate to 60p for slow-motion flexibility in post, which did come in very handy.

The Rangefinder wasn't used at all to pull focus during shots, but it made it much easier to refocus in between takes, and it seems to guarantee sharper results if you pay attention to what you are doing.

Brand film produced on minimal budget - partly shot on GH4

So excited. My first ever brand film was just launched.

My journey in helping Tuxera to humanize their brand started in early October 2015. From the very beginning, it was clear that our limited budget meant that we had to be innovative, both in terms of story and actual production. We decided to go for a mix of carefully selected stockfootage and combine it with some powerful low key footage from the Tuxera lab, which we shot with a GH4 on a shogun.

I hope this film will help Tuxera to get closer to the billions of people powering their devices with their ground breaking software.

my girlfriend recently bought her first camera. She started out in January and I think she is making incredible progress. Unfortunately she is not getting a lot of views on her videos.

The Windmill and the Gulls (Sony RX-100 IV + BMPCC)

We shot this one together in February. The location is Bremen, Germany.

Another go at shameless 80s synth-pop music w/quick & dirty green screen work A6000

Shot vertically to capture more resolution during green screen work (in my living room with two LED panels of the cheapest kind). Main song hook recorded in one take although there's a cut-away in the edit during the bridge of the song. Sony A6000 with the 55mm 1.8. Tunnel shots done on Panasonic GH2 and severe editing in After Effects for the light beams with text.

This was on February 21, 2016. It was originally supposed to be on the 14th but it was too cold and so they ended up rescheduling it.

I don't think I told Google to stabilize the video but last night, I saw that the video was saying "Edit in progress" check it later today and was told the video got stabilized. I guess my video had so many shakes that Google insisted that it be stabilized rather I choose it or not. Still, for all I know, I might have hit it by accident without realizing it.

Shot with the ancient Panasonic AC90 camcorder in 30p and edited using Premiere Pro CC.
