PR

The X-A10 combines a 16.3 megapixel APS-C sensor with the image processing engine that achieves Fujifilm’s excellent photo quality. Sharp FUJINON lenses that boast ultimate image resolution, and the proprietary colour-reproduction technology, refined over more than 80 years, allows users to capture premium quality images in any shooting conditions. Fujifilm is particularly renowned for accurately reproducing skin tones, and the X-A10 is built with this advanced skin tone reproduction capability, allowing you to produce high-quality portraiture.

180-degree slide-and-tilt LCD with 100% visibility for facilitating “self-portraits”

The rear LCD employs the slide-and-tilt mechanism so that even when it is tilted by 180 degrees, the LCD is not blocked by the camera, allowing for 100% visibility. The grip is shaped to accommodate both normal shooting and self-portraits. When taking a self-portrait, you can focus and release the shutter by pressing the vertical command dial found directly below your index finger to minimize camera shake. Rotating the tilting LCD upward by 180 degrees activates the Eye Detection AF to automatically adjust the focus on the subject’s eyes. The X-A10 also features the Portrait Enhancer mode for natural and beautiful skin-tone reproduction.

Compact and lightweight camera body with retro design and intuitive operability

The compact and lightweight X-A10 sports a retro design. The use of two Command Dials means you only need a thumb to quickly adjust aperture, shutter speed and exposure settings. Frequently used functions such as white balance, continuous shooting and the self-timer can be assigned to standalone function buttons, eliminating the need to go through the Menu screens to change settings.

Inheriting FUJIFILM X-A2’s popular performance features

Its energy-efficient design means the X-A10 is capable of shooting approx. 410 frames on a single battery charge. When fitted with the standard zoom kit lens “XC16-50mmF3.5-5.6 OIS II,” the camera offers the class-leading minimum working distance of approx. 7cm from the front edge of the lens, allowing close-up macro photography.

Outstanding image quality, made possible by the newly-developed 16.3 megapixel image sensor

Fujifilm’s colour reproduction technology, nurtured through the development of photographic film, captures accurate, warm skin tones, clear blue skies and lush green foliage in tones exactly as you remember them.

The APS-C sensor delivers beautifully smooth bokeh effects for portraiture and macro shots when using a shallow depth of field.

The X-A10 offers a total of six Film Simulation modes, namely the true-to-life colours of PROVIA (standard), the vibrant tones and saturated colours of Velvia (vivid), the soft tones of ASTIA (soft), the documentary-style deep colours and soft shades of CLASSIC CHROME, as well as Monochrome and Sepia.

The normal sensitivity range covers ISO200 to ISO6400, while extended sensitivity settings of ISO12800 and even ISO25600 can be selected when you want to minimise camera shake. The X-A10 produces clear images with astonishingly low noise, even on low-light nightscapes and indoor shots where high ISOs are essential.

Advanced Filters help you easily produce creative effects. A total of ten Advanced Filters are available, including the new “Fisheye” and “Cross Screen” as well as Toy Camera, Miniature, Dynamic Tone, Pop Colour, Soft Focus, High Key, Low Key and Partial Colour.

The screen has a slide-and-tilt mechanism so when it is tilted 180 degrees into “selfie-mode”, it can slide out further to ensure the camera body doesn’t block the view.

The grip is shaped to accommodate both normal shooting and self-portraits alike. The final shape, based on ergonomic design, was decided through prototype testing involving hundreds of photographers

When taking a self-portrait, you can take photos by pressing the vertical command dial found directly below your index finger to minimise camera shake. The Self Timer function offers Smile Detection, that take photos automatically when the subject smiles, Buddy Timer which shoots when two people come close together, and Group Timer mode that automatically shoots when a specified number of people come into the frame.

Rotating the tilting LCD upward by 180 degrees activates the Eye Detection AF to automatically adjust the focus on the subject’s eyes.

The X-A10 features a Portrait Enhancer mode, which makes the human skin look smoother and brighter. Enjoy the beautiful skin tonality that only the X Series offers also when shooting selfies

The camera supports charging via USB for maximum convenience, especially while traveling.

Class-leading minimum working distance

When fitted with the standard lens “XC16-50mmF3.5-5.6 OIS II,” the X-A10 can focus on subjects as close as approximately 7cm from the front of the lens allowing you to explore the fantastic world of close-up macro photography.

Super Intelligent Flash

The built-in pop-up flash supports the Super Intelligent Flash system that accurately controls light output according to individual scenes. When shooting indoor portraits in low-light, small items or food, the flash system reduces highlight clipping to produce images exactly as your eyes see them. Natural colours and brightness are also achieved when shooting backlit scenes or photographing a person under intense sunlight that casts strong shadows on the face.

Full HD video recording

Press the dedicated Video Recording button on the rear to easily start recording full HD (1080/30p, 25p, 24p) video.

The Film Simulation function, popularly used for still images, can also be applied to video recording for a diverse range of creative effects, which can be combined with smooth bokeh, made possible with the APS-C sensor and FUJINON lenses to produce professional-looking, creative movies.

Turning on the electronic image stabilisation function delivers the five-axis image stabilisation that combines optical and electronic stabilisation, significantly reducing a variety of camera shakes that could occur during video recording. This function allows you to record high quality video with reduced camera shake while walking around with the camera in your hand.

Versatile shooting functions including the electronic shutter with the maximum speed of 1/32000 sec

When using the ultra-fast electronic shutter, even under clear skies or other bright conditions, you can use large aperture to achieve a shallow depth of field without over-exposing the image. You can capture a scene exactly as intended without having to use an ND filter.

As a result of answering the requests from many users, the X-A10 now features the Panorama and Time Lapse functions.

Other new functions include the interlocking of Metering and AF areas, support for the Adobe RGB colour space, and choice of different colours in Focus Peaking for assisting MF.

Wireless communication functionality enables remote shooting from smartphones and tablet devices

Install the free FUJIFILM Camera Remote app on your smartphone or tablet and use the Wireless Communication function to transfer photos and videos to your device with a simple one-touch operation. You can view and select photos and videos in your camera or on your smartphone and then easily import them to your device. You can even attach GPS location information, obtained by your smart device, to your images.

The Remote Shoot function lets you adjust exposure and other settings, focus and take photos from your smartphone or tablet device. With Remote Shooting, the app not only offers basic operations such as Touch AF and shutter speed adjustment, but also lets you adjust a variety of shooting settings or initiate video recording. It’s great for group photos, self-portraits and even wildlife photography where you might want to compose your shot from a distance.

In March 2011, Fujifilm released the X100, opening up a new market for premium compact cameras. In February 2012, the second generation X100S was released, complete with a newly developed sensor, processor, and an advanced Hybrid Viewfinder. Now, the X100T marks the ultimate evolution as the third generation of the X100 Series, reflecting the feedback from customers for each and every part, including image quality, viewfinder and operability. The X100T is available in both black and silver versions and includes three key changes:

World’s first Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder, complete with Electronic Rangefinder

The X100T’s optical viewfinder can simultaneously display the focus area by using the built-in ND filter. Users simply need to turn the camera’s focusing ring for a mechanical rangefinder-style view. Additionally, Focus Peaking and Digital Split Image modes can be selected and the magnification of the focused area can be changed.

With the optical viewfinder, Real-time Parallax Correction has also been added to ensure more accurate framing. Parallax error, which occurs during close-up shooting, is automatically corrected in real time so users no longer having to reframe after focusing.

In addition, reduced display time lag, automatic brightness control, and enhanced Live View settings have been added to the electronic viewfinder providing a more comfortable shooting experience.

Increased operability with the 1/3 stop aperture ring, command dial, 4-way controller, and seven Fn buttons

Until now, setting the aperture in 1/3 steps needed to be done using the command lever. Now, it is done using the aperture ring. Also, the command lever has been changed to a command dial, and with the addition of a four-way controller, operability has been dramatically improved. The X100T is also equipped with seven Fn buttons, each one of which is customisable, while the rear LCD has been ungraded to 1.04M-dot 3-inch monitor, greatly improving visibility.

New Classic Chrome film simulation mode, developed through 80 years of photographic experience

Fujifilm’s unique Film Simulation modes that mimic the effects of photographic films help users to reproduce warm skin tones, bright blue skies and rich green trees. Classic Chrome, which delivers muted tones and deep colours, has been added to the existing selection.

World’s first Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder, complete with Electronic Rangefinder

To facilitate manual focusing while using the Optical Viewfinder, the focus area is enlarged and displayed in the bottom right of the viewfinder. Part of the original optical image is blocked and then the digital EVF display is projected in the resulting space. Manual focusing that was previously difficult with the optical viewfinder is made easier, much like a mechanical rangefinder.

  • Focus Peak Highlight and Digital Split Image can also be selected on the enlarged area, and the magnification of the focused area can be changed.
  • Compared to the X100S, bright frame coverage has been increased from 90% to 92%.
  • Real-time parallax correction has been added for more accurate framing. Parallax, the gap between the shooting range frame and actual shooting range when taking pictures close up, is automatically corrected in real time. Reframing after focusing is no longer necessary.
  • Visibility has improved under a variety of conditions, from bright scenes outdoors to dark scenes indoors, by automatically controlling finder brightness.
  • The Live View display can also be set to “Preview Pic. Effect”, which recreates selected camera effects such as Film simulation modes. Equally, a more natural Live View close to what the naked eye sees can be chosen by turning this option off.
  • The image within the finder is smoother in low light conditions as it is displayed at the maximum frame rate possible.
  • Display time lag, inherent problem with electronic viewfinders, has been significantly reduced.

Increased operability

  • On previous X100 series models, setting the aperture to 1/3 stops could only be done with the command lever, now it can be done using the aperture ring. The exposure compensation dial has been extended to ±3 stops. Also, the command lever has been changed to a command dial, and with the addition of a four-way controller, operability has been dramatically improved.
  • The X100T is equipped with seven Fn buttons, each one of which is customisable. Further user customisation is offered on via the Q Button on the rear of the camera: all 16 functions can be chosen according to the user’s preference.
  • Die-cast magnesium is used for the top and bottom of the body, for a precise, light and highly durable design. A special coating is used for the surface finish, creating a premium feel.
  • The exterior is finished with non-slip synthetic leather, which is durable and resilient.
  • Applying a grooved pattern to the aperture ring, shutter speed dial, and exposure compensation dial improves grip and looks good.
  • The rear LCD has been ungraded to 1.04M-dot 3-inch monitor, greatly improving visibility.
  • Each and every part is made in Japan, for high precision and finish.

Installed with the fastest electronic shutter at 1/32000 sec., expanding the shooting range

A completely silent electronic shutter that is capable of exposures up to 1/32000 sec. has been added. Photos with a shallow depth of field can now be shot with the aperture wide open on snowy fields or the beach under clear skies. As there are no mechanically operated parts, natural facial expressions such as those of sleeping babies can be captured more easily than ever before.

Full HD video with the X-Trans CMOS II sensor

  • Frame rates can be selected from 60fps, 50fps, 30fps, 25fps and 24fps for Full HD movies, supporting worldwide motion picture formats.
  • The world’s first*2 videos can be shot with the optical viewfinder, just like using a film movie camera
  • Film simulation modes can be used on videos to add creative colour effects, plus bokeh can be created by using the lens’s wide maximum aperture.
  • Manual exposure can also be set during video shooting. Aperture, shutter speed*3 and ISO sensitivity can be set, allowing videos to be shot just as the user wishes.
  • A high bit rate of 36Mbps enables clear capture of delicate movement.
  • High-speed, high-precision focusing thanks to Intelligent Hybrid AF, which switches between phase detection AF and contrast AF according to the scene, even during video shooting. Manual focus is also possible.

The E-PL6 is compatible with a wide range of Micro Four Thirds specialist lenses made by the M.ZUIKO experts, and the Expression Kit includes one of their latest achievements. The M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-42mm 1:3.5-5.6 EZ pancake zoom lens is the world’s slimmest in this category. The M.ZUIKO signature is unmistakeable – in the startling size of the lens, the quiet motor, and the quality of the images it captures. Speed, power and portability are key to spontaneous, individual and stylish photography – and the PEN E-PL6 has all three in abundance. In combination with any Micro Four Thirds lens and the powerful TruePic VI image processor, super-quick start-up and autofocus mean the camera reacts as fast as you think, even in low light. For example,Level Gauge overlays a grid on the LCD when there’s no horizon as a reference. Interval shooting for stills stitches together stop-motion videos while Small AF Target Mode makes it easy to focus on tiny parts of the subject, then magnify these for more precise focusing. Short Release TimeLag Mode combines with Fast AF to reduce the delay that can otherwise make it difficult to accurately capture fast-moving subjects.

The supplied FlashAir WiFi card lets you quickly transfer photos and videos to your smartphone via the Olympus Image Share app, then effortlessly on to social media sites. The large and tiltable 3-inch monitor swivels up and right round so it’s visible from the front of the camera, giving you the flexibility to frame a whole new class of selfie – or other shots from unusual angles.

olympus OMD EM-1 gets 24p, OMD E-5 gets fIat (log?) profile http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/13719/olympus-omd-em-1-gets-24p-omd-e-5-gets-fiat-log-profile Tue, 15 Sep 2015 09:50:19 +0000 bannedindv 13719@/talks/discussions " Olympus Imaging is pleased to announce new firmware updates for its professional OM-D E-M1 and enthusiast E-M5 Mark II cameras. Firmware version 4.0 for the E-M1 will significantly transform the camera’s video-recording, macro photography and stealth shooting capabilities. Version 2.0 for the E-M5 Mark II introduces video specific enhancements for professional use.

The fourth iteration of the E-M1 camera firmware (v4.0) introduces an extensive number of new or improved features that significantly broaden its imaging capabilities. For video recording, 24 and 25P frame rates have been added to the camera’s existing Full HD video recording capability. The video stabilisation algorithm has been completely revised to deliver a much higher level of dynamic image stability in handheld operations. Two powerful new focus stacking and focus bracketing modes assist to improve depth of field for close-up imaging. A new silent electronic shutter mode provides stealth shooting operation in delicate wildlife, concert and stage photography environments. Other new feature highlights include 4K time-lapsed video recording, and a simulated optical viewfinder mode that uses high-dynamic range technology for a traditional SLR viewfinder experience.

The E-M5 Mark II’s firmware v2.0 introduces a new flat picture mode that helps to facilitate higher quality video colour grading during post-production. Linear PCM sound synchronisation with the Olympus LS-100 professional digital audio recorder (via USB) is a new feature. On-board video sound recording quality has been further improved with a new digital noise filter.

In line with the camera firmware updates for both cameras, firmware for all Olympus M.Zuiko PRO and Premium series lenses will be updated at the same time.

Olympus’ Capture software, used to enable tethered imaging with both the E-M1 and E-M5 Mark II cameras, will also receive feature updates and performance enhancements in its new version, 1.1. An important highlight is faster data transfer speeds between camera and host computer in studio usage. For still life and product photography, a new keystone compensation feature enables digital perspective correction directly within the application. The popular quickset Super Control Panel interface from the camera’s on-board menu will also be available from within the Capture software interface to improve camera control and usability.

The availability of the new firmware for the E-M1 (v4.0), E-M5 Mark II (v2.0), PRO and Premium lenses, as well as software v1.1 update for Olympus Capture app will be in November 2015. Exact availability dates will be subsequently announced.

    Press release

September 17, 2013 – FUJIFILM North America Corporation today announced the new FUJIFILM X-A1 compact system camera (CSC), the fourth interchangeable lens system camera introduced within the award-winning FUJIFILM X-Series. The ultra-light X-A1 gives consumers an affordable entry point into the X-Series line of digital cameras and delivers outstanding image quality using its large 16.3 Megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, easy operation and wireless image transfer for quick photo sharing.

The FUJIFILM X-A1 kit will ship with the FUJINON XC16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OIS zoom lens. The XC16-50mm is a versatile lens that is ideal for a wide range of photographic subjects, including clear low-light scenes, beautiful portraits and vivid landscapes. The lens consists of 12 all glass elements in 10 groups including 3 aspherical elements and 1 ED element. The lens features seven round-edged aperture blades, which offer 17 stops in 1/3 EV increments for precise aperture control.

Large 16.3 Megapixel APS-C sensor and EXR Processor II

The FUJIFILM X-A1 uses an APS-C sensor and powerful EXR Processor II that captures rich tones, breath-taking dynamic range and stunning low-light images using its extended ISO range of up to 25600. With the X-A1, users can set the sensor sensitivity from ISO200 to as high as ISO6400 in 1/3 step increments, to obtain remarkably clear images even when shooting indoors and at night.

Together with the EXR Processor II, the X-A1 also gives customers fantastic speed with a start-up time of 0.5 seconds2, a shutter time lag of 0.05 seconds and a maximum burst speed of 5.6 frames per second (max. 30 frames3).

    Compact performance and advanced features

The X-A1 CSC combines advanced features in a go-anywhere design. The X-A1 weighs just 11.6oz*4 and is about a third of the size of a traditional DSLR body. With a slim profile of 1.3” at its trimmest point, the X-A1 is easily carried anywhere.

The X-A1 also features a 3” tilting high resolution LCD screen with 920,000 dots for easy image viewing and framing at various angles. The 3” LCD monitor tilts at variable vertical angles, facilitating both low-angle and high-angle shots whether on or off a tripod.

The X-A1 uses a built-in high precision flash, with the guide number 7*5, and Super Intelligent Flash technology that uses scene recognition and automatically controls flash strength to reduce highlight clipping.

Easy Image Transfer with WiFi® button

The X-A1 includes a WiFi button that lets users transfer high quality photos and movies*6 to social media sites for easy sharing from the camera to smartphones, tablets and computers.

To connect the X-A1 to a smartphone or tablet, users can download the free dedicated “FUJIFILM Camera Application” to their iPhone™ / iPad™ or Android™ smartphone or tablet device to transfer up to 30 pictures at a time from the X-A1. The app also lets users download movies, expanding the range of options available for enjoying pictures taken with the camera.

    Intuitive design and easy operation

The X-A1 has its key operation buttons and dials positioned on the right side of the camera’s rear panel for easy use and quick picture taking. The Mode Dial for selecting the optimum setting for each scene gives access to the Advanced SR Auto function, which automatically recognizes each scene and selects the best settings for sharp and clear images.

The Advanced Filter function and Film Simulation modes give users a range of creative filters and film effects to apply and achieve unique and artistic looks.

The FUJIFILM X-A1 and XC16-50mm (24-76mm) F3.5-5.6 OIS lens (kit) will be available in September 2013 for $599.95 in black and indigo blue

Olympus PEN E-P3, shooting at 25 fps: is there a way??? http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/7153/olympus-pen-e-p3-shooting-at-25-fps-is-there-a-way Tue, 04 Jun 2013 09:56:11 +0000 Da_Real_Pope 7153@/talks/discussions Hi everyone! I've been roaming the web for a while before coming here to ask this: is there ANY way to make my PEN E-P3 shoot at 25 fps, instead of 29,97? I asked Olympus too, but they just said: the camera can't, bye. (so professional...) I wondered if there was any chance to find a "hacked" firmware letting me set it that way, and wandering around stumbled couple of times in Vitaliy's name. :D I hope this is an "allowed" topic and, if the case, anybody could help me!

    Thanks anyone and everyone! ;)

PS. any hack I could find about Olympuses was for near EVERY camera but the E-P3 -.-
