Guess I am a little confused. I saw some footage using the "aquamotion" patch...all I can find is "Flowmotion"... is this the same patch?

Hi! I´m using a GH2; firm1.1; Sandisk extreme pro 64GB (95MB/s) and ptool3.exe. First I tried a patch called "non adverse effects" but my camera froze pretty often while recording, so I´m using ptool v.3.65 on it´s own: I´m just listing up what I have modified:

30min removal checkt max iso checkt Pal/NTSC checkt 24H=42000000 24L=32000000 FSH=42000000 FH= 32000000 That´s all.

I´m most interested in a 1080 p25 Format. The only mode providing this format is the HBRmode. Is this mode altered by the modifications I made? The Quality is great but my camera freezes often when I use this mode :-( I also need the 1080 i50 format. When using FSH my camera stops recording after 15min all the time. It does not freeze and the quality is good - interlaced... only when I use the FH mode recording is reliable and I can record 1h nonstop. I absolutely need this reliability because I´m filming interviews and stuff like this and mostly there is no change to redo a take.

So what can I do If I need a absolutely stable 1080 p25 recording for at least 2h in one take. Are there any patches? Should I alter the ptool settings? Try another SD card? Thanks for your help!

I am having trouble with a hack which is apparently stable even on class 4 cards! I was wondering if it could possibly be my SD card? Hi there I have been trying to find a 100 percent stable settings file to download for my GH2 I tried one already from mpgxsvcd and strangely it does not record more than 2 seconds at HBR I have a verbatim class 10 SD card as well which should be more than good enough - this is with the latest ptools (3.66d) and panasonic firmware (1.1) and his 725B settings.

So basically I am wondering if anyone else has come across this and also if there are any other stable settings I can use? As of this date (I found some old ones which I was not sure of) Thanks!

Problem with PTool

I never had a problem with PTool before and I want to share if you people can help. I´m new with GH2 and want just test patches. I tested Lpowell and some driftwood apocalypsis now and everything is ok. But I bought a fast SD card and wanna try big bitrate hack, so as allways I put in the same folder 176 Quantmybaby. The weird thing is out of this folder ptool 6.66 allways read GH_11 software, but inside the folder tell me wrong software. I thought the mistake was that maybe it is for GH1 software, but I tried with GH_13 and tells me the same, wrong software. When I tried with Mysteron Burst, was fine. What am I doing worng? Thanks a lot Wich driftwood patches work with GH1 please?

firmware was placed into root folder
have tried to set version increment to (2, 10 and 20 - obviously nothing worked)
I name the files GH2__V12 (.bin is added by PTool)
tried to reset all camera settings

I don't understand what has happened.. I have been installing numerous hacks for a few months now and never had any issues until now. I have tried everything but nothing seems to fix the problem :s

EDIT: Also tried to format the card on computer and then on camera, but that also didn't work.

Is 25fps/1080p with hack and cranked bit rate (eg. 176mb/s) possible or not?

I've been scouring the net and honestly can't find a straight answer to this question. I've got a project starting on Wednesday that needs to be shot in 25p... My guess is that this still isn't possible, since I haven't stumbled across anything to the contrary. But I would absolutely love for someone to tell me I'm wrong.

computer cant access gh2 anymore

sorry, i dont know if this is the right category for this. Also i did not find anything in the search option.

My pc cant acess my gh2 anymore. A couple of days ago it worked perfect as always. Now it recognises it as a drive after i connect it and sees how much space is in use on my sd-card, but i cant get into the subfolders anymore. It says it cant find the application/device (in german "kann Anwendung nicht finden").

I tried several SD-cards, different USB-Ports, still no sucess. The incamera settings are the same, too. I also did not change any configurations on my PC. I uninstalled the gh2 in the device manager, still no sucess.

Any help is highly welcome!

Any ideas for a good hack for shooting something very high contrast: A light and then a fall off to almost black. Hope to keep the noise out of the black. Would this be the night patch you guys are speaking of in the forums. Thank you.

Hi everyone, So, I come from a film background and am now shooting a film on the gh2. I'm looking for a patch that gets close to 35mil; things like latitude, ratio, etc.. Can anyone recommend a patch that gets as close to 35mil a patch can get while still maintaining some good reliability? Ambiguous question maybe. Thanks!

Does anyone know what could cause this error? I was attempting to download from my sandisk extreme pro 32 card after recording with gh2 (flomotion) and this error was given when trying to copy over some of the files to my computer: The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “00043.MTS” can’t be read or written. (Error code -36)

I am about to hack my gh2 with GH2 100Mbps Flow Motion Patch v1.0 with 50Mbps File-Spanning. I am poor and it took me a while to get a expensive camera like this, as I am also a po college student, and stuggle just to eat. Will these hacks overload the sensor and kill the camera faster then the recommend 24mbps ? I just dont want to break such an expensive thing or make it die an early death

Ive used p tools off and on for sometime now. and i keep hearing about GOP i know it says the lower the number the less compression on it. Is this the only effecting compression? I also keep hearing the word Spanning Used alot with the gh2 on this site. can someone explain this too me.

Im trying to keep up with all these terms because im having problems with my camera as in when i hit record the video turns a weird green shift of colors. Ive seen some amazing videos from guys. i have a canon camera with Magic Lantern on it so I have hacked it and used its system. Ive used ptools so i know how to use it. but i feel some of you guys are doing something to the ptools or something. im not getting a good color.

is there some kind of link anyone knows of that can calabrate your gh2 screen to be right?

Whats the most stable gh2 patch, plus where can I learn about the patches?

I have a gh2 andI want to hack it. I just dont want to use a patch someone made, but I want to pacth it myself. I heard stuff like certain pacthes wont span, I need to know what this means, and what pacthes NOT to use.

Hi! I've bought a SD card Sandisk SDXC 64GB 45Mb/s but with my gh-2 with flow motion FW Sometime freeze the machine! I've tried with the original and non original battery and is the same... The curious is tha the machine freeze when i start the rec... i need to remove the battery because i can't do anything (the on-off switch is unusable)

I think that can be the sd card because whit the other sd card (16GB) i have no issue...

Just back to PV after a long absence and looking for a place to begin again.

PT v3.66d? As this is the new PTool, should I use this for my GH2 hacks or stick with 3.65? Vitaly has set in 'BOLD' step #7 which is to read the faq's, yet v3.66 is not listed, GH1 is still the name of the link for the firmware manipulation tool, the link to the firmware update download is unnecessarily convoluted and confusing, the "Simple "Instructions" still list GH1__V13.zip (rather than a generic camera setting file which adds to uncertainty), the Hack Vault is three months stale even though there seems to be a plethora of ongoing hack settings, and all recent efforts seem to be towards the GX1 hack.

Is there a comprehensive hack chart that I am missing? Are there established procedures for mixing and matching settings that are widely accepted? Any other concerns for non newbie users that aren't on the faq page?

I am looking for a stable patch that provides a high bit rate and the ability to directly playback in cam without the need to switch it off first. I am also wanting to implement the Pasadena sound settings.

I am more interested in stability and direct playback than push the camera to its limits. As far as the sound hack goes I am just trying to limit or eliminate the Automatic Gain Control (AGC).

GH2 Stills Features Development

Hi, I'd like to develop the stills features of the Panasonic GH2, but this doesn't seem to have received much attention so far from what I can find.

For example, I'd like to: - Add some more options to the exposure bracketing list (feels like this should be relatively easy) - Add some sort of "focus bracketing" (maybe more difficult) - Look at introducing "expose to the right" metering (could be a challenge :) )

My questions: 1. Has anyone else done any work on this, or are there any existing patches? (If so, a pointer would be great) 2. Do we know if these should be possible? 3. If I have to "do it myself", can anyone provide me with a starting point?

Best first hack settings for holiday footage

Hey everyone.

I've been following along the hacking progress for well over a year now but have still yet to make the switch and try a hack out.

I'm going to go to Paris next week for a holiday and am taking my GH2. I was planning to go stock, but i figure it'd be nice to get some more quality, and some higher ISO access.

My question is which setting is the best for me to try first. I'll be shooting with a mix of transcend cards, class 6 and class 10. I guess i'll have to go for class 6 safe settings then. I want maximum stability, and dont want the filesize to balloon up too much as i'll have limited cards with me.

I'll go ahead and scour the forum some, but i've been a bit out of it lately so would appreciate some recommendations of super stable first attempt hacks for this sort of situation.

On Camera Settings question

I just recently bought a GH2 that came already hacked. Unfortunately it was hacked by the person before the person I got it off so we have lost track of what version of the Driftwood hack it is. I know it is working because I can already see I have additional ISO settings in Manual Movie mode.

My question is, what or where are the settings I should be using directly on my camera? I switched it over to C3 menu and when tried to record got an error back that my card was not fast enough (which it probably isn't, but getting a new one soon) so this leads me to believe that this is where the highest quality settings live but I still am unsure of what settings produce what results? Is Manual Movie mode just the standard camera mode?

Sorry if this lives on another thread or seems like a silly question, but I new to this whole hack thing and not having the background knowledge is bugging me.
