Here is my problem: since I switched to OSX "El Capitan" on my mac pro, my Final Cut Pro displays the rushes in a very dark way, as if there was a gamma adjustment problem. I tried to play with the settings of parameters in every way and I have not found a solution.

At best, the problem appears when the playback bar on the timeline is stopped. And as soon as I put in reading, the image appears as normal.

Any idea ? best regards

It would be very nice to do photo slideshows too using perfect 10bit 4k. There is no photo format for that but I can do HEVC video file. Is there editors which can do it?

I'm having trouble with 4K playback with GH4 files and Phantom 3 Pro 4K with Premiere Pro CC 2015. I can playback at full resolution and it will start to drop frames with Mercury Playback installed. DJI Phantom 3 Pro 4K files drops frames at full, 1/2 res, and 1/4 resolution around 5 seconds into the clip, it drops frames. Any settings I can change? I'm running Premiere CC 2015.

I installed the CUDA 7.5 dev. kit. And updated to GPU-z 0.8.5. CUDA is now enabled. I deleted all preview files and started fresh. Same thing. Software playback plays GH4 & DJI Phantom 3 files fine, no dropped frames. When I enable mercury playback engine, it stutters and drops frames. Any help with this?

What I do now is I transcode the 4K footage (H264) to 4K (ProRes) and edit away on a 1080 sequence - if the delivery asks for 1080.

The problem is that once I render the sequence and decide to change some small things around or add/trim clips, I have to render again for every step that I change and overall it can be very time consuming.

Is there a way to for example transcode the 4K original footage to a 720p small files JUST FOR THE EDIT and then once the sequence is a lock, conform the clips in the sequence back to their original size (4K) and export the sequence in 1080 and 4k?

I Import the 4K file from Desktop to Adobe Creates New 4K timeline, Then I Goto seq. settings change it to 1920 x 1080 it seems to work fine then I goto Ad a LUT with lumetri or what ever and add other s*%t and the whole thing gets messed up. Meaning Its zoomed in wayyyyyy too much .

As of today, Shotcut is in a very early development stage not doing much beyond playing files.

I must say that I really wonder why Dan decided to start yet another editor based on MLT, given that at least three other NLE's are already based on his MLT framework (kdenlive, OpenShot and Flowblade). But he did not say what he was missing from those existing editors... ;-)

It's an app called Magisto (iPhone, iPad, Android, Chrome, etc) that automatically edits your videos into highlight style videos with effects and music. It's certainly not a "pro" application and there's not much you can do to customize the videos it makes but it's perfect for quick and dirty edits of footage that might end up sitting on a hard drive forever.

I personally shoot a lot on my iPhone that I think I'll get around to editing but I never do :-) There is a free versions of the app so it doesn't cost anything to give it a try. The paid tier subscriptions are a little pricey but the free version works well enough.

This has been a problem with adobe premiere as long as I can remember and still in the brand new CC version I am still getting audio drop outs randomly.

It is very random and can happen at any time the audio will drop out, then come back in and then go out again. If I stop playback and re-start, it will play for a little while and do it again.

I have tried changing every setting I possibly can within premiere and within my system and I am at a complete loss.

It is making it impossibly to do any editing

About 5-10% of left and right of the frame doesn't have the plugin applied to it. I have found this issue exists with Hycolor and various plugin sets from FCP effects, Pixel Film Studios and Red Giant.

I have been having this issue since day one owning a GH4 and assumed that the issue would be fixed in a Final Cut update or updates to the plugins. I have tried various scaling, crops and trims while trying to keep the existing aspect radio with no luck. I know I can crop it away after the fact but that's the last thing I would want to do.

Anyone else having this issue?

I am currently attempting to implement a new workflow at the work place using Adobe Premiere as we begin to stray away from FCP 7. Well my dilemma now is that I can't seem to figure out how to export my sequence to tape/deck (HDCAM,DVCPROHD,XDCAM) like we do on FCP 7. We have a Matrox MX02 LE setup to handle this task; it works with FCP 7 but not Premiere. I updated the drivers to support our specific version of Premiere as well. The problem is when I go to File>Export the selection for tape is grayed out. Does anyone here have an idea on what I am doing wrong?
