GoPro Hero 7 topic http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/19918/gopro-hero-7-topic Tue, 19 Jun 2018 12:46:32 -0600 EspenB 19918@/talks/discussions After the discovery that the Hero(2018) is hardware identical to the Hero5 it might not come as a suprise to learn that the Hero7 seems to feature the same hardware as the Hero6. Only packaging and firmware might differ this year!

The model number SPCH1 is exactly the same as the GoPro Hero6.

The new GoPro action camera does not get a new name. The recent inspections of the device show that GoPro sticks to the usual designation and chooses Hero7 Black. For example, the action camera was approved last month by the Canadian ISED under this name with the model number SPCH1. Presumably this was not desirable as this inspection was quickly removed from the database. The screenshot below, however, shows that the Hero7 Black is indeed inspected including the product name and the model number.

Ricoh WG-6 Compact for Tough Life http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/21594/ricoh-wg-6-compact-for-tough-life Thu, 21 Feb 2019 21:17:24 -0700 Vitaliy_Kiselev 21594@/talks/discussions image

Heavy-duty construction for underwater shooting down to 20 meters, continuously for up to two hours

The WG-6's solid, airtight body is waterproof to a depth of 20 meters --- the deepest in the history of the WG series --- and for up to two hours of continuous operation (equivalent to IPX8 or JIS Class 8).  It is also shockproof against a fall from heights of up to 2.1 meters, dustproof (equivalent to IPX6 or JIS Class 6), cold-resistant to temperatures as low as 10°C, and crushproof against weights of up to 100kgf (kilogram force).** Its heavy-duty construction means that the WG-6 performs superbly in demanding outdoor conditions.

High-quality, high-resolution images

Combining a state-of-the-art back-illuminated CMOS image sensor (which excels in high sensitivity and low-noise characteristics to deliver high-speed readout of image data signals) with a high-performance imaging engine, the WG-6 delivers a top sensitivity of ISO 6400 and super-high-resolution images with approximately 20.0 effective megapixels. It also provides advanced image processing functions, made possible by the latest superresolution technology, for sharp, clear, high-resolution images. It even provides such innovative features as Handheld Night Snap mode, which automatically captures several images of the same nighttime scene and produces a single blur-free composite image from them.

4K-resolution movie recording for extended shooting of high-quality movies

The WG-6 provides 4K-resolution movie recording in the H.264 format, allowing the user to capture high-quality, extended movie clips (3840 x 2160 pixels, 30 frame rate). In addition to the conventional Movie SR (Shake Reduction) mode,* it also features a new Movie SR+ mode, which generates a shake-reduction effect similar to the one created by a gimbal unit for high-quality movie shooting with more active, fast-action outdoor activities.

Five-times optical zoom lens with 28mm wide-angle coverage

Thanks to its five-times optical zoom lens with an angle-of-view coverage from 5mm to 25mm (equivalent to approximately 28mm to 140mm in the 35mm format) and a minimum focusing distance of a mere one centimetre, the WG-6 covers a wide range of applications, from eye-catching close-ups to sweeping landscapes.

Its Intelligent Zoom function extends the zoom range by approximately 40.5 times without compromising image quality, while its Interval Shooting mode makes fixed-point photography simple and effortless.

Six multi-application Marco Lights to assist close-up shooting

Positioned around the circumference of the lens barrel, the WG-6's six LED Macro Lights let the user select a faster shutter speed to minimize camera shake and subject shake in macro and close-up photography. The discharge level can be increased to as much as ten times that of conventional units. It also allows selective lighting, allowing the user to activate only the horizontally or vertically aligned lights to illuminate the subject more three-dimensionally and emphasize the subject's delicate contours.

3.0-inch, wide-frame LCD monitor for wide-angle viewing

The WG-6 comes equipped with a large, high-resolution 3.0-inch LCD monitor with 3:2 proportions and approximately 1,040,000 dots. Its AR (Anti-Reflection) coating minimizes annoying glare and reflections to deliver a sharp, clear on-screen image even in the bright sunshine often encountered in outdoor shooting. It also features an Outdoor View Setting, which allows for easy adjustment of monitor brightness according to changes in ambient lighting conditions, optimizing the visibility of the on-screen image.

Enhanced GPS functions for easier data recording

The WG-6 has a built-in GPS module, which automatically records position and travel log data onto captured images and adjusts the built-in clock to local time. This module can be activated with a single action, and can receive signals from Japan's quasi-zenith satellite system Michibiki and Russia's GLONASS (global navigation satellite system), in addition to U.S. GPS satellites. By linking it with the SBAS (satellite-based augmentation system), the user can even record more accurate position data at various locations and times. When shooting indoors, the GPS Lock function allows the user to record GPS data onto captured images by using previously acquired position data.

Other features

  • Two remote control receivers (one in front and another on the back) to widen signal coverage
  • Electronic Level to check the camera's horizontal/vertical inclination
  • 18 Scene modes to select the finishing touch best suited to the subject, including a new Depth-of-field Composite mode
  • 12 digital filters
  • User position on the mode dial to program and recall user-selected camera settings
  • DW-5 (optional) to broaden the angle-of-view coverage to approximately 22mm (in the 35mm format) at wide-angle end
  • Compatibility with FlashAir™ SD memory cards for wireless LAN communications
  • Three strap lug receptacles for versatile strap arrangements, such as vertical and two-point suspensions\

Optional Accessories

  • RICOH O-CC173 Protector Jacket This silicon protector jacket not only protects the camera from dirt and scratches, but also improves grip on the camera when it is being held.
  • RICOH SC-900 Camera Case This holder-type camera case comes with a belt loop on the back, and allows for quick removal of the camera during snapshot photography.

image

image

  • HC-WXF1K - Premium Model 4K Camcorder features professional-level functionality including EVF and Manual Ring Operation
  • HC-VX1K - provides performance without compromise with 4K picture quality and new 4K cropping functions
  • HCV-800K - Full HD Camcorder features newly developed Leica lens and new large MOS sensor

All three Panasonic camcorders use a new backlit 1/2.5-inch sensor.

Panasonic is proud to introduce two 4K camcorders (HC-WXF1K / HC-VX1K) and a Full-HD camcorder (HC-V800K) which features a new sensor and new lens for significantly improved image quality. Each of the new camcorders offer exceptional optical performance such as a wide-angle 25mm* and 24x optical zoom lens, and achieve quick and accurate focusing for both 4K and Full-HD to enhance the AF function critical in video shooting. The new additions to Panasonic's extensive portfolio of high-quality camcorders continue to respond to the needs of all users ranging from video enthusiasts who pursue full-fledged 4K video quality to family users who want to record treasured moments in impressive images.

Create brilliant videos even in dimly-lit places

The new large BSI MOS Sensor found in the 4K camcorders (HC-WXF1K / HC-VX1K) and the Full-HD camcorder (HC-V800), combined with the bright F1.8 lens, improves low-light shooting performance by approximately 70 per cent compared to previous 4K models. By suppressing noise when shooting in low light situations, such as indoor scenes and nightscapes, videographers are able to capture the perfect footage anytime, anywhere.

Premium video with 4K quality

Record the best of your world with the brilliant high-definition 4K image quality available in Panasonic's new 4K camcorders (HC-WXF1K / HC-VX1K). The high-performance lens which has cleared Leica Camera AG's stringent standards for resolution and contrast, minimizes flare and ghost to maintain beautiful images at all times. When recorded in the 4K Photo Mode, timeless moments that cannot be captured even by the high-speed burst shooting of a single-lens reflex camera can be obtained as still images.

*Outstanding for shooting in proximity and taking close-ups

The newly developed Leica Dicomar lens (HC-WXF1K / HC-VX1K / HC-V800K) offers a remarkably powerful optical 24x zoom that ranges from a 25mm* wide angle to a 600mm telephoto zoom. The 4-Drive Lens System operates the four lens groups independently to achieve the optical 24x zoom and compact body size. The stunning wide-angle setting can fit a large group of people and background scenery into the frame, while being convenient for recording selfies with the rotatable LCD.

Avoid handshake blur with the new HYBRID O.I.S.

The optical image stabilizer in the 4K camcorders (HC-WXF1K / HC-VX1K) and the Full-HD camcorder (HC-V800K) has evolved further from the previous 5-Axis HYBRID O.I.S. + by incorporating the Ball O.I.S. System and Adaptive O.I.S.

The Ball O.I.S. System reduces wear on the drive section, and greatly improves correction performance for small-amplitude handshake. The Adaptive O.I.S. automatically optimizes the O.I.S. effectiveness by adjusting the O.I.S. mechanical control according to shooting positions, conditions and user characteristics. The new HYBRID O.I.S. further reduces blur caused by natural handshaking particularly during zoom, which enables you to recover clear images even in high-powered 24x optical zoom. The Level Shot function automatically detects and corrects the tilting of captured images.

Professional results with the electronic viewfinder and manual ring

Panasonic's highest-end 4K camcorder model (HC-WXF1K) is packed with advanced functions and features to satisfy the needs of both professionals and ambitious amateur users. The Tiltable Viewfinder lets you capture the subject accurately under any condition. The Manual Ring allows professional-standard, fast ring operation for fine tuning focus, iris and zoom. The two separate dedicated Manual/Auto and Focus/Iris/Zoom buttons enable quick switching. The HC-WXF1K is also equipped with functions and features that are highly acclaimed in professional products, such as the Variable White Balance with an adjustable range of 2,000K to 15,000K, Focus Expand/Peaking and User Button, to respond to a diversity of user needs.

4K Cropping to preserve once-in-a-lifetime scenes with no mistakes

4K Cropping, available in both the HC-WXF1K and HC-VX1K is an original Panasonic function that lets you shoot at wide-angle in 4K, and then easily edit the shot later and save it as a Full-HD image. This kind of post-editing is also possible for zoom shots and for changing the angle of view, to save scenes that might otherwise have errors.

The 4K cropping functionality features new capabilities such as Post Auto Tracking (Auto Tracking Crop) which allows you to record a fast-moving child at a wide-angle in 4K automatically tracking their face, allowing extraction of the Full-HD movie with no framing-out and the further ability to add the image stabilizing effect at the same time. A new Post Manual Tracking feature (Manual Tracking Crop) enables you to simply touch subjects that move unexpectedly, and track them intuitively with your finger to shift the angle of view. Finally, the Post Close-up (Fixed Crop) function is perfect in situations where there is little movement and a part that you don't want is included; you can shoot at wide-angle in 4K and then easily crop the part you want later.

Create cinema-style videos

The Cinema Like Effect, which is featured in all 4K models (HC-WXF1K / HC-VX1K / HC- V800K*), enables shooting techniques like those used in film production, such as Slow & Quick Video, Slow Zoom, Slow Motion Video, and Dolly Zoom. These compact 4K Camcorders provide a great deal of fun for creating cinema-style videos.

  • HC-V800K compatible with slow motion video only.

  • 3″ Touchscreen LCD, Tiltable EVF

A versatile addition to the VIXIA G-series family of camcorders, Canon U.S.A. Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, today announced the Canon VIXIA HF G50. The camcorder is the first VIXIA G-series camcorder to feature 4K 30P recording and is an ideal tool for advanced amateur filmmakers, wedding videographers and student reporters. Featuring a genuine wide-angle Canon 20x (29.3-601mm)* optical zoom lens, the VIXIA HF G50 provides a well-rounded feature set at an affordable price point.

“As filmmaking and videography continue to grow into a more ubiquitous medium of visual expression, it is imperative that creatives have products that help capture their unique vision,” said Kazuto Ogawa, president and COO, Canon U.S.A., Inc. “Not only is Canon eager to view what our users create with the VIXIA HF G50, we are excited to be with them along the way as their skills and ideas further evolve into the future.”

The VIXIA HF G50 camcorder records 4K UHD/30p (4:2:0 8 bit) and 1080p Full HD (4:2:2 10 bit via SDI/HDMI Output) in MP4 format to dual-card SD card slots with dual and relay recording. Users can also record in slow and fast motion interval from 0.4x to 1200x providing users with additional creative possibilities. To help provide enhanced image quality over its predecessor, over sample HD processing can be utilized with information obtained from the 4K 1/2.3-inch sensor and the DIGIC DV 6 image processor.

The VIXIA HF G50 camcorder’s Intelligent Optical Image Stabilization five-axis system Dual-Pixel CMOS AF provides users with powerful image stabilization via a Dynamic mode, which reduces image distortion even when shooting while walking. By adopting the 8-bladed circular aperture applying the EF lens technology, it is possible to take pictures using natural beautiful bokeh. The ergonomically designed and highly portable camcorder has a 3-inch LCD touch panel screen and tilting, user-friendly, high-resolution color Electronic View Finder (EVF).

Pricing and Availability

The Canon VIXIA HF G50 4K UHD video camcorder is scheduled to be available in April 2019 for an estimated retail price of $1099.001. For more information, please visit, usa.canon.com.

The new FDR-AX53 features a newly developed 20x optical zoom lens with advanced aspherical (AA) and Extra-low Dispersion (ED) lens elements that allow it to produce a crisp, high resolution image within a compact size. The lens also has a ZEISS® T* coating that reduces unwanted reflections and flare.

The new camera is also equipped with a new image sensor with large pixels (approx. 1.6x larger than previous model) that is optimized for video shooting and delivers beautiful low-noise images in all conditions including low-light scenarios. These two key components – lens and sensor – work together to deliver stunning 4K video.

The new camcorder also has the acclaimed Balanced Optical SteadyShot image stabilization technology, which ensures that video output is smooth, stable and blur-free at focal lengths ranging from wide-angle (26.8mm) 3 to the extended 20x optical zoom. Additionally, 5-axis Intelligent Active mode compensates for vibration in five different axes to ensure movie footage is smooth and free of jitters or shake in even the most unstable of conditions.

Other new features on the FDR-AX53 include an enhanced AF algorithm that achieves approximately 40% faster autofocus speed and more accurate subject capturing, as well as a new microphone structure that collects sound from five different directions to produce sound with about 40% less noise and clearer than the previous model 4. The camera also has Full HD 120fps high-speed recording, allowing it to create superbly detailed slow-motion movies6. It can capture time-lapse images in 4K for high resolution 4K time-lapse video as well.

For the more advanced videographers, the new 4K camcorder includes an electronic viewfinder for accurate framing plus a customizable manual ring and manual button that can be assigned to key functions like zoom, focus and exposure adjustments and more. The FDR-AX53 is also compatible with time code and user bit functions and can record at an incredibly high bit-rate of 4K 100 Mbps through use of the XAVC S™ recording format, allowing each frame to be filled with astonishing 4K detail.

Post shooting, 4K video content from the camcorder can be played back directly on a compatible 4K television through the supplied HDMI cable, or in super-sampled Full HD when connected to an HD TV. The new model can also ‘trim’ a selected portion of a 4K video frame to fill the screen with Full HD quality. In this mode, trimming size8 can be changed with zoom lever or on-screen icon. Also, with support of 4K still image capture, users can extract and save 8.3 MP still images from 4K movie footage without impacting the impressive 4K video quality.
