SIRUI has officially joined the L-Mount Alliance, becoming the ninth member to adopt Leica’s unified lens mount standard. The alliance was originally formed in 2018 by Leica, SIGMA, and Panasonic and now includes a broader mix of companies, including DJI, Blackmagic Design, and Samyang. The L-Mount ecosystem continues to grow, and the SIRUI Aurora 85mm F1.4 lens is now available. For filmmakers and photographers, the L-Mount system is known for its cross-brand compatibility—lenses from any member can be used on any L-Mount camera body without adapters or loss of functionality. That makes it one of the more flexible systems on the market, especially for hybrid users working across photo and video. SIRUI’s entry into the alliance suggests we can expect more L-Mount lens options from them in the future, and even better, most likely at a lower price point than those offered by some of the original members. It’s built entirely from metal with a four-tab locking system for durability, and the contact strip allows full electronic communication between lens and camera. L-Mount Alliance.
