SIGMA 28-105mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens Released

SIGMA 28-105mm f/2.8 DG DN Art lens is a new fast allrounder zoom lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras with Sony E-mount and L-mount. It features a weather-sealed body, weight below 1kg/2.2 lb, 82mm front filter thread, a minimum focusing distance of 40cm, and a video-oriented design with minimized focus breathing, aperture ring, and more. Only a few years ago, it was quite difficult to get a full-frame lens with a fast constant aperture of at least f/2.8 combined with a long zoom range. Thanks to technological advancements, we now have a few lenses with these specs. I am talking about the Tamron and Samyang with the 35-150mm f/2-2.8 or the Canon 24-105mm f/2.8. Today, SIGMA announced a new, very interesting, fast all-rounder lens as well. Let’s take a quick look at the new SIGMA 28-105mm f/2.8 DG DN Art lens. SIGMA 28-105mm f/2.8 DG DN Art lens This lens covers full-frame sensors, and it will be available for Sony E-mount and L-mount cameras. Optically, the lens features FLD, SLD, and five aspherical elements, the largest with a diameter of 66.4mm. This design allows the lens to stay relatively short and lightweight. The good news is that SIGMA managed to keep the lens weight under 1kg/2.2 lbs. This also means there is no optical stabilization. You have to rely on the camera’s IBIS.
