If you thought the guys at Nexus were sitting on their laurels, think twice. Thomas and his brother Timothy, next to their dedicated team, are continuing to develop the Nexus G1, a camera that is being designed “by filmmakers for filmmakers”, promising to shake up our little industry, at least by the amount of attention it gets. We last reported about this project at the end of 2024, and now it is time for a quick update. If you haven’t been following the Nexus G1 camera project, we are encouraging you to do so, even if just for the sake of seeing how a small, visionary team led by two brothers is trying to bring to life their modular box form-factor cinema camera, based on the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6k. If you have been in the business of designing or manufacturing equipment, you will appreciate the effort. At the same time, for potential customers like us, it’s an intriguing project to follow—and possibly even support if it aligns with our interests. Nexus G1.
