Blackmagic Shows Off Complete Immersive Video Experience for First Time at NAB 2025

As a follow-up to our first IRL check-in with the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive camera back at SXSW last month, which showcased the URSA Cine Immersive in a lineup next to the rest of the current URSA Cine lineup, the Blackmagic Design team was finally able to fully showcase the immersive video experience as it's meant to be viewed here at NAB Show 2025.And, to put it mildly, it was existentially exhilarating. It’s really hard to put into words just how uncanny and, dare we say, “immersive” the experience of viewing URSA Cine Immersive-shot footage on an Apple Vision Pro headset is. And, if development and trends continue, the immersive video revolution could be the biggest leap in video technology since the Full HD to 4K jump—and it could also perhaps be the answer to growing concerns over AI’s intrusion into the film and video world.The Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive ExperienceDemoing the Apple Vision Pro for the first time was a unique experience in its own right. However, with the Vision Pro already being well-covered and reviewed over the past year, it was pretty much what one would expect. The Vision Pro is a bit clunky, a bit heavy, and just a bit awkward to experience for the first time.
