Blackmagic Design Kicks Off NAB 2025 With PYXIS 12K Announcement

Well, that’s certainly one way to kick off NAB Show 2025 with a bang. Officially not set to start until Sunday, April 6th, in Las Vegas, Blackmagic Design is starting the show early with the announcement of a new PYXIS 12K cinema camera.As the 12K upgrade to the PYXIS 6K model which was announced at the start of NAB last year, this new PYXIS 12K will feature a full frame 36 x 24mm RGBW sensor up to 12288 x 8040 resolution, 16 stops dynamic range, and the choice of EF, PL or L Mount. Blackmagic has also revealed that the PYXIS 12K will also be able to record Blackmagic RAW with proxies directly to dual CFexpress media recorders.
