CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association in Japan) published their latest camera production data for 2023 (orange: 2023, black: 2022, blue: 2021): 2023 full-year CIPA numbers by ZoetMB CIPA predicted 5.72 million DSLR and Mirrorless bodies and 9.39 million lenses for calendar 2023. In October we predicted 6.07 to 6.22m bodies and in November we predicted 6.07m bodies. 2023 came in at 6.001 million bodies and 9.639 million lenses. Total shipped value came in at 5.59% over 2022. 2023: 6.001 million bodies (+1.25%), 9.639 million lenses (-0.92%).
